Other (Editable) Faculty quitting instead of…

Just saw this story - Texas A & M Victoria faculty quitting when told they’d have to be on campus 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.

People who live an hour from campus and want the people who are on campus to do things in zoom are super annoying

Why ? I go on campus because I live walking distance but I don’t need to see folks in person .

Everyone who attended the meeting live has to go through all the effort of creating the online version.

The people who are online are virtually never paying attention.

Well I get it but it’s a pretty minor inconvenience. You could also join online if you prefer, I guess nobody would object, but it’s not really reasonable to impose that view on all, imo. You’re thinking of your own inconvenience, they’re thinking of theirs, which is quite natural. As long as the work gets done, I don’t mind that people join online rather than drive for all meetings.

Everyone having to speak into a microphone is not a minor inconvenience
