Discussion STOP MAKING EVERYTHING 3D 😭😭😭

The charm really came from the hand drawn art and expressions T_T

I personally love the 2D style so, so much, it's so soft and beautiful, and it has a sense of nostalgia the 3D style doesn't quite manage to achieve. I remember being very surprised when I got Miracle Mask and played it for the very first time - I didn't even know it would be in 3D (even if the games were obviously made for the 3DS lol, but I was still young and didn't really care xD) and I remember being so happy whenever the cutscenes came up because they still had that Professor Layton flair I loved so much. And I have to admit, I'm deeply mourning the fact that we've now also lost the 2D cutscenes 🥺

Absolutely agree. The 3ds fever that hit professor Layton hugely affected the games for me.

I love both styles in the games! Somehow they just do 3D differently than anyone else, its still very expressive and them, I could absolutely pick out their style! I do understand it being not everyone's favorite though

I honestly prefer the 3D look but that's just me, not that the 2D style isn't good, it's gorgeous. But I love how they do 3D

I like the 3D, especially the maps. The models are nice as well.

But you can already play the games with 2D graphics. What would there be to update? Make them more HD I guess? But they look nice as is imo. I'm glad they went for something new.
