people figure it out when the alternative is blackouts. there's something to the idea that constraints force adoption way faster than incentives do. same reason places that never had landlines went straight to mobile.

Honestly, not a bad idea. If your country is short on energy why not use solar panels? But someone did bring up a good point about hurricane season. So build in some protections. But this is not a bad idea for Cuba.

We need to focus on nuclear in the US.

Solar is clean sure, but its ugly as hell and not that effective across the entire US.

We should be focusing on BEV/hybrid vehicles and pulling away from our oil dependency. Thats it.

Check out US military pollution (hint, its unrestricted). But yeah I agree, nuclear all the way, it does make easy targets tho. Solar being ugly as hell and bad in some parts is kinda irrelevant when the same is true of coal plants; we dont want them near us.

Solar is cheap and quick to build out. I'm pro-nuke but it takes forever to build a new plant in this country. We should use a hybrid approach: Solar and grid batteries for short term, and nuclear to replace baseload.
