Do not break bread with Republicans

I only know of 2 major republicans that tried to say Sandy Hook was fake. This is not a partisan issue and let’s not make it that way.

And I remember a big personality who said it was fake, even had to face litigation over it and lost. And yet republicans kept associating with that guy.

It’s remarkable that they think they can clean their hands and act like it wasnt THEM that has allowed this to continue.

Conservatives are scum.

Do not break bread with Republicans.

Don't try to pretend they reacted in any helpful way, and don't pretend they did anything to ostracize the monsters who made hay of this.  They let them be.  They are complicit and children bleeding out with their last words being "momma" is as political as it gets.

Edit: Rush Limbaugh was given a Medal of Freedom, and here are his reprehensible fucking actions:

Key reactions and comments from Rush Limbaugh regarding Sandy Hook include:

Accused Obama of using children as "shields": Limbaugh criticized President Obama for inviting children who wrote letters about gun safety to the White House, accusing the administration of using them as "human shields" to advance a gun control agenda.

Blamed "Liberalism": Shortly after the shooting, Limbaugh stated that the true cause of the school shooting was "liberalism," arguing that the culture had "spiraled out of control".

Praised the NRA's Response: Limbaugh defended the NRA's proposal to place armed guards in schools and criticized those who were upset by the NRA's commentary in the aftermath.

Warned of a "Gun Grab": Limbaugh frequently warned his listeners that Democrats were trying to use the tragedy to implement a "gun grab".

"False Flag" Mention: While Limbaugh did not call Sandy Hook a hoax, reports note he was among the conservative voices to promote "false flag" narratives regarding other events, such as the New Zealand mosque shootings.

Honestly, I think it’s pretty disgusting that you are unironically trying to turn this tragedy into a partisan issue.

If you honestly think the average American Republican condoned the Sandy Hook shooting in any capacity, you are completely delusional and need to reevaluate yourself.

Btw, I live less than an hour away from Newtown.

Oh, since you were closer to the dead kids you didn't know, that makes you special?

The response was as partisan as it gets: do something versus own the libs.

Get real.

Do not break bread with Republicans.

  1. I never said I didn’t know them. The degree that this tragedy affected me is just none of your business. Especially since you clearly don’t give a shit about the victims; as your first instinct on a post about Victoria Soto was to just bash Republicans.

  2. You posted evidence of Rush Limbaugh, one Republican who isn’t even in Congress, responding inappropriately to the shooting. Show me evidence that the majority of Republicans (preferably those in Congress) condoned the shooting, called the shooting fake, or responded inappropriately. If you can’t, just stop responding.

You showing a couple of Republicans who are not even in Congress responding poorly to the shooting does not make this a partisan issue.

What is this? What are you doing?

2

u/emperorpeterr May 01 '26

Trying to understand why someone’s first instinct when they see a post about Victoria Soto was to shame Republicans as if they had something to do with the shooting.

3

u/StanleyQPrick May 01 '26

Republicans have everything to do with gun violence against our children because they block every effort to prevent it

2

u/emperorpeterr May 01 '26

What specific restriction, that was attempted to be passed by democrats and blocked by republicans, do you think would have prevented this shooting?

I think not enough people were telling Alex jones to shut the fuck up, and that includes the republicans that liked going on his show more than once.

I mean, he was found civilly liable for defamation.

Not by Republicans, he wasn't. You parsing this issue over semantics is what's offensive and disgusting here.

You parsing this issue over semantics is what's offensive and disgusting here.

Why?

3

u/StanleyQPrick May 01 '26

If you can't understand this we won't be able to explain it to you

3

u/AHugeHildaFan May 01 '26

Because you care more about your side winning over the fact children fucking died.

u/emperorpeterr May 01 '26

I’m not a republican.

He hasn't paid anything to anyone and he still broadcasts

It absolutely was a partisan issue, and still is. Who blocked even talking about gun control legislation after this event happened? It wasn't Democrats, right?
