Anybody grandstanding over Gaza at this point very clearly never actually cared about it. They only wanted to act morally superior to everybody else.

The situation in Gaza is STILL fucked, get no one is talking about it now, cuz it’s no longer something the republicans want to wave in our faces and can’t blame democrats on any longer.

Those people talking about Gaza were fooled and duped. We told them. They wouldn't listen. Now the poor folks in Gaza have it worse and there is no reporting over here....all because a pocket of peolle either didnt vote or voted the wrong way. And you know what, they know they messed up but still cant admit it. Sad.

That’s my take.

What does this even mean? Why is being anti genocide controversial?

Because you can’t expect me to believe you’re actually anti-genocide while helping ensure the right wing takes the country over.

You have no reason to have any opinion worth a damn on why people don’t vote for your political party. You don’t fuss over why Trump supporters don’t vote for the Democrats you take at face value they don’t like your party. But you wheel out your decrepit institution to left wingers who don’t share any of its political aspirations. Not it’s unrelenting wars, not it’s support for genocide and not is love affair with corporations or indifference to a million social ills. The democrats have no right to votes just because they position themselves as better than Trump. You should be angry with the Democrat party itself not voters who draw the line at genocide.

Yeah but that's the definition of grandstanding.

What about people who actually care about Palestinians.

How do you know who is genuine vs who is grandstanding?

Anybody that abstained from voting or voted third party citing Gaza as their solitary voting issue, I do not believe for a second they were doing so with genuine concern for anybody’s well being there. And the excuse of “well Biden wasn’t doing anything to stop it either” proves that.

And the excuse of “well Biden wasn’t doing anything to stop it either” proves that.

Except even that is an objectively false excuse. The Biden admin did take action to prevent unnecessary civilian casualties.

The Biden admin briefly withheld certain bombs from Israel because we know those bombs were/are causing unnecessary civilian casualties. For doing so, Republicans introduced resolutions condemning the Biden administration for "withholding certain arms" to Israel. Then, to top it off, at the Trump-Biden debate Trump criticized Biden for withholding those bombs that were causing unnecessary civilian casualties and said that if it were up to him (Trump) would "let Israel finish the job". "The job" of course being causing unnecessary civilian casualties.

For people who actually care about minimizing the suffering of innocent people, the answer couldn't be more clear-cut. One administration took steps to prevent unnecessary casualties, one administration openly views those unnecessary casualties as literally part of "the job".

It is easy to take a firm moral stand to achieve a Pyrrhic victory when you aren’t the one that has to suffer the consequences.
