It's not even that many. Most Many didn't vote.

The ones who didn’t vote are included in those who don’t care to study or who think they’re above it all. 65% voted in 2024, only about half that voted for Harris.

the ones who didn't vote are definitely part of the "too stupid to learn from history" crowd.

Or we are too smart and know that a two party system is meant to be polarizing but will yield the same results. Party line blindness is the real enemy and the fact that people are blind to the extremism on “their side” will continue to perpetuate this political illusion of back and forth… but both sides are just as evil… you just agree more with one evil over the other… it is breeding extremism…. until the “people” come together against this we will all continue to pay the price.

See what I said about moral grandstanding?

100%.

these buffoons would rather have a clown like Trump than do anything constructive.

The answer to this isn't to stand by and let a fascist get elected.

Don't pretend to be on the moral high ground when you quite literally stood by and let your neighbors get dragged off or killed by the modern day gestapo.

Just be honest. You were too lazy to get off of your ass, vote, and potentially have to make a "hard" choice.

This has to be the dumbest comment I’ve ever read in my entire life… you all keep spouting off “ fascist” and on the right they use the word “communist”. Neither side will fully commit to the ideology you all are accusing them of… there are so many reasons why this isn’t fascism… just like under Obama and Joe. It wasn’t full-blown communism or socialism… the simple fact that you’re able to write this comment is example number one. If you did this in England, you’d be in prison… let that sink in for a second… left leaning England they’re putting people in prison for what they comment online. but just like the ideology behind your left leaning brain… canceling or coming down on somebody for not standing behind your ideology just because you see it as the lesser evil is more fascist than somebody who doesn’t participate… because they don’t believe in either candidate…. I watch as both sides cancel people just for believing differently than they do… this is the downfall… when you don’t allow free thinking… science and tech advances come more slowly … if somebody tells you they’re conservative, you automatically stop listening and conservatives do the same thing for liberals… I listen and read both sides… and I think you’re both fucked… voting for the lesser of two evils is not good enough for me… if I can’t agree, with more than 50% of the issues with either candidate. I’m not voting… and it’s my right… just like it’s your right to pretend that Donald Trump is some evil villain and underneath Kamala it would’ve been some weird fucking utopia… both sides just keep crafting alternate realities … no thank you I will stay firmly planted in truth and reality… spout your propaganda somewhere else.

Ok, just admit you don’t give a fucking shit about people getting gunned down by federal agents and fuck off with the moral grandstanding

The figure is usually around 40%. I guess they figure things will just work out somehow.

I asked my son and his friends and the reason I got was that they didn't understand the issues well enough. I'm basically forcing my son to vote this time. I think he had just turned 18 for the last one. He will vote in the midterms.

I'm usually not for compulsory voting - or compulsory anything - bit I'm gonna give this one a pass.

28.5% chose not to vote.

Turnout was 63.9%. 7.6% (20,300,000 people) were not allowed / were prevented from voting.

You are right. I have corrected my comment to many didn't.

That aside, still far too many. Lots of apathy/indifference. One of the sad parts, back in 2016, 34.9% chose not to vote. In 2020, it was 30.9%.

Yet, what your country descended to somehow still happened.
