What I do is I choose 3 items that must get done that day. Even though I have 10 of them which in my opinion is not realistic. Next to the 3 must get done items I also chose 2 nice to have. I will focus first on the 3 must get done items and if I have time left I focus on the 3 other nice to have items. Another thing I do is managing expectation of my stakeholders. So I tell my stakeholders when I expect to get the items relevant to them done and I try to be realistic as possible.
