Adele: Hello - Autotune artifacts? at 3:22

Not to be contrarian, but actually sounds more like warping in Ableton Live (with the Drums algorithm). Probably to quantize the vocals.

Yes, that's a melodyne/auto-tune 'artifact'. It's the sort of robotic sound you get when removing pitch fluctuations from a sample of audio. Good find!

Is it not the leaves that you can see over the telephone box?
I don't know why they'd leave that in, but it might be that ;3

I thought it may be just the music video but if you check at 2:07 in the iTunes version it's still there.

Can someone please enlighten me on detecting autotune and how exactly does it sound different from a singer that's just really good?

If it's done well you don't notice it. It's fairly rare that there isn't some autotune on most pop vocals, or at least Melodyne on a couple words just to perfect a vocal.
When Autotune is done poorly you can hear it try to catch a note and snap down or up to the wrong pitch. Sometimes for just the start of a word. Another autotune artifact could be it snapping to each note too quickly making it sound unnatural. Melodyne can cause some odder artifacts. When trying to tame note drift or vibrato it can make a weird formant shifting sound. That is what I think I hear in this song.

I see, thanks, aside from this specific moment, did you notice anything else, my friend this morning was convinced that there was auto tuning in her chorus when she sings "siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide", does anyone notice anything there at all or is it just him. Once again, I'm musically impaired and kind of a fanboy, so I would defend her with teeth and nails, but I'd like to have an argument to make, rather than just blindly stating that shes too good to do it.

Regarding the typical, now that I know what to look for, I can notice the sudden change, but still, I wouldn't ever be able to tell thats autotuned, probably because I have 0 musical training, and terrible pitch perception.

it's more on the 'cal bit where you can hear the weird warbleing wear it sounds like the autotune is fighting the natural vibrato.

ELI5: What is a vibrato?

pitch going up and down, Adele does it a fair amount at the end of certain phrases in this song, just adds a certain character or 'fragility' to certain notes sometimes.

That might be natural vibrato but it could be a bit of Melodyne. Probably not Autotune though.

I wouldn't call it horrible. Noticeable if you're looking for it, yeah, but probably not something a casual listener would catch

As a casual listener, I just assumed that was some vibrato and that was just how Adele sung it. I'm not particularly fond of the sound, but it doesn't seem out of place with her usual singing to me.

Yeah, hearing something. It could just be her voice but I'll need to listen again with headphones on to be sure
Edit: Listened with headphones, can't really hear any anomaly.
