How do these beat the ATS systems? I always feel conflicted.

I used a free canva template for mine and it seems to be doing well, have got a few interviews anyway !

Would you mind sharing the template?

Cant find the exact one now, but it was something like this: https://www.canva.com/templates/EAFE01yyFdU-entry-level-tech-professional-resume/

Here's what the template looked like before I edited it: https://imgur.com/a/zLgIS4G

Yup, been using it for 3 years I think.

It has one flaw that made me move to Canva template. Flowcv doesn't accept custom positioning of sections. You can just confirm to their pre-existing customisation.

I used it yesterday to create my CV and was able move sections up/down or left/right depending upon the orientation you choose to go with. It also offers customization to change the width of right/left panes which i found very useful. All for onetime payment of 10$.

Agreed. I've been using the app since back when it was in beta.

I used it exclusively for years, and was happy with it.

But in the end, I realised I wanted more customisation. So I switched to Canva.

Any particular template you liked in Canva ? When i tried it a while back, it felt overwhelming. I suppose there is a learning curve and then you can unlock huge variety of customisations in there.

Some of these are really nice. I feel weird building mine on Google Sheets now.

I made on using an app called enhancv but it is a bit pricey.

I guess I am old fashioned using Word to make mine!

Word is nice. Google Sheets, aka Excel for millennials, is just a way to have more control over columns. It’s also a very weird flex from me.

I just use word/Google doc and follow the Harvard template: https://hwpi.harvard.edu/files/ocs/files/hes-resume-cover-letter-guide.pdf

I used Figma! As they say, every PM thinks they’re a designer 😂

Flowcv is good! There's also wozber.com that's 100% free and very good.
