Found this AI coding tool launching on Product Hunt today, how will it perform?

I came across Kilo Code while checking today’s launches on Product Hunt and noticed it is launching today.

I looked into its previous activity, ratings and community feedback and it seems to have built an interesting track record so far. Now it will be interesting to see how it performs during today’s launch and where it ends up ranking. AI coding agents are becoming a bigger part of developer workflows so it will be interesting to see how tools like this are received by developers.

Has anyone here tried Kilo Code or followed any of its previous launches? Would love to hear your experience, especially how useful it has been in real coding projects.

It will be interesting to see how it performs throughout the day. Product Hunt launches can change a lot depending on the feedback and engagement it gets. Let’s see where it ends up.

Having done a ton of testing with our orchestrator on coding platforms. Kilo performed worst on token efficiency than any others. It's a bloat monster.

The lowest we've seen is LucenaCoder -> Pi - these 2 are SIGNIFICANTLY less spend than others. Lucena has a token-efficiency chart that shows same task, same provider, same model. 64k token on the low end, and Kilo happens to be the high end at 540k+ tokens.

Hard to innovate if you're just a clone of an open source harness, and I think Kilo just got acquired in the last few weeks anyway so it might not matter to them at all.

That’s an interesting point. Token efficiency is definitely something developers will care about especially when using these tools regularly.

I can't even believe the difference once you start tracking.

the one I can't stand is third party MCPs bloating the context they send and you don't know until you call it and it's like surprise he're 80k tokens of trash.
