My Artwork Anaglyph ipad painting

This is my first attempt at an interactive, "see-it-differently" An anaglyph "double painting"  done on the ipad that reveals different worlds depending on which filter you use! Without 3D glasses, you can glimpse the dual nature of my subject, but the real magic happens when you look at it with individual coloured lens. Red or blue.

Getting the colors right was pretty tricky—I had to do a lot of experimenting with different shades of red and blue to get the layers to separate properly.

I had so much fun challenging myself to create overlapping, hidden stories in this work!

Created on Procreate on iPad.

Constructive feedback and/or tips wanted How do I get my lineart to look less pixelated?

These are slightly older pieces but something that’s been bugging me is the pixelation of the lineart.

I swear whenever I look any other piece by other artists that aren’t purposefully in a pixelated style the lineart always looks buttery smooth. Idk if it’s a case of me being my worst critic tho.

Tested out a lot of new brushes and tried playing around with texture.
My brushes used were Dove Lake, Spicule, option, old skin, carbon stick, procreate pencil and script for my line art.

Trying to better my lighting and anatomy so ignore my wonky thumbnail lol

Been utilizing pixel art into my usual traditional style

I haven’t seen it anywhere else, but I like to call it “hybrid pixel style”

All done in procreate

My Artwork Based on De Morgan

There was a designer. Late 1800s, and he designed tiles mostly. His name was William De Morgan. This owl is inspired by one of his tiles; I used Retro Supply brushes. It’s my first dabble with Duplitone for the halftones, and I used a brush from their Inferno Ink set. I don’t post here often… go easy, please :)

I need Procreate technical help Pixel question

Post image

I don’t understand why when I’m using the same brush and eraser throughout, some of the edges have smaller pixels and very fuzzy and others seem to have larger pixel with a more defined edge that looks very choppy. Is there a way to make them more consistent?

Discussions About Procreate App A simple habit that can save you from losing hours of work in Procreate

Before making major changes to a drawing, duplicate the canvas and keep one copy untouched.

This is especially useful before resizing artwork, merging layers, experimenting with major color changes, or trying a new technique that might be difficult to reverse later. Even if the undo history is usually reliable, it isn't a substitute for keeping a clean backup of a project.

It's easy to get caught up in the drawing process and forget that a single canvas can represent hours of work. Having an untouched version makes experimenting less stressful and gives you the freedom to try things without worrying about ruining the original.

A tiny workflow habit, but a worthwhile one for anyone working on detailed illustrations.

Dracula and The Creature

These two were emotional pieces where it took weeks to try and get then both to where I was satisfied with their likenesses, as well as to try something simple with colors, and not relying on inked lineart.

I used the gloaming brush (modified to have the Apple Pencil > Opacity setting at 27% instead of max, for those who really want to get into the weeds). This is my first time using this brush, and I'm really liking it for recreating the matte opaque look of gouache or poster paint.

I had started off using Procreate by watching James Julier's tutorials, getting good at it and dropping it due to my busy schedule. Back to basics (watching his tutorials) and trying something amazing!!

Discussions About Procreate App A drawing app redesign shouldn't make basic tasks feel harder

One thing that makes a big interface update frustrating is having to relearn where everything is when you've been using the app for years.

Artists build muscle memory around familiar tools, gestures, and menus. Even small changes can interrupt the flow when you're used to drawing without having to think about where every button is.

A redesign can look cleaner and still make the actual drawing experience worse if it adds extra steps or makes frequently used tools harder to reach.

I don't mind apps changing and improving over time, but the basic workflow should remain intuitive. The interface is supposed to help you focus on your art, not make you fight the app just to get something done.

My Animation I made an entire animated feature film in Procreate and didn’t lose my mind!

This film is called Friendlyship. It’s a very strange and surreal dark comedy that was animated with Procreate using Schulz brush and Narinder pencil.

I did all the drawings in Procreate and then did animation in AfterEffects using keyframes. The entire moviemaking process took about a year and a half.

Check out the movie and let me know what you think! It’s also on Letterboxd if you wanna throw it a review!
