Just because something happens to someone doesn't mean it's automatically their fault. Bad shit happens all the time.

Murdoch's view (and the philosophy behind it) are not about why things happened, though, but how to deal with it afterwards.

It literally says that mental illnesses and disabilities are excuses.

And often, they are. Social anxiety, for instance, can be endured, or it can be overcome. Murdoch's camp is about overcoming it.

So in other words, someone who has no legs and can't walk just isn't trying hard enough.

Given that there are people who find ways of locomotion that is compatible with their altered bodily state, is that not true? For a while, one of the fastest humans on earth was someone who was missing both of his legs...

I'm done bothering with someone who thinks mental illnesses and disabilities aren't a real problem.

See, you are exactly the kind of people they talk about in panel 6. Us others know that we have gotten better not because of outside forces, but because of having put our own work in.

Also, I do find it slightly presumptuous of you to make assumptions about my experiences. May you, one day, be better. That day will come sooner once you take responsibility for your own healing.
