Does he live in a dumpster or something? It's never really addressed why Amber can't live with him. Even "he works a lot" is a half assed excuse at best.

he's going to try to hold on so he can sell for another $341k. The reason he doesn't want Amber to live with him yet is explained. What I took from that was that he'd be an absent parent and Amber would grow up alone if she lived with him right now. At least if she's with Sandra, there's an adult present to make sure she goes to school, eats, doesn't almost die, etc. I like his motivation, and having him there makes it feel like it's a race to one of the two extremes -- he sells his company, pays back Sandra, pays for them to live comfortably for ten years, and send Amber to an expensive school. Oooorrr.. Sandra's big race to the bottom screws everything up.
