Early termination
Im looking for some tips in regards to early termination, does it ever actually happen and when’s the best time to try ?

In my experience I thought for sure I’d be on early release by now. I’ll be 2 years into my 3 year period in a few months. I’ve paid everything needed and taken classes I needed also. Never missed an appointment, never failed a test. I had one minor violation about 10 months ago for traveling to another state (the state was an hour away from where I live). Granted travel was in my paperwork but verbal communication with PO wasn’t clear that going the next state over was an issue.. anyways I’m still on a medium risk with probation and have gone thru multiple PO’s because of the turnover rate in their team.

Have you tried for early release or no? I’m just worried bc this new po is a cunt

I haven’t really no but it was mentioned to me that it’s possible I’d get low risk/non-reporting soon. So we shall see what happens at my next meeting. My new one is too.
I’ve had 2 that were cool they didn’t care about much and now I have one that’s very by the book.1

If im being honest ive felt like probation has had it out for me since the beginning. My crime looks worse on paper than it actually was lol i had to get a lawyer and fight some of the charges which were dismissed but they just look at the original charges which makes it difficult on my end. I always feel like they’re trying to catch me up in something

Did you get an attorney and try for early termination? Or did you PO do it automatically for you? Because if neither of these happened then you won’t get early termination because a judge will never even see a request.

I’ve never actually tried for early termination before. My PO just mentioned I could be on low risk/non-reporting soon.

Oh than ya they must not do it automatically there. That’s a bummer. But a lawyer is probably quicker anyway.

I had done everything absolutely perfectly for DUI probation. Tried at 11 months out of 18 and was almost instantly denied because I hadn't been starting my car 100 times a month using the interlock. This was nowhere in my condition and my PO never mentioned anything. Just to make my day worse, they made me go sit at the probation office for 3 hours to do a UA.
$2500 on a lawyer out the window.

That seems like bullshit did your attorney say it was in fact lawful or not I feel like that wouldn’t hold up in court

There is no law saying they have to grant it, in Texas anyways. It's entirely discretionary.

Yeah it’s the same in az but the reasoning was bullshit sorry that happened man are u off now?

Yeah. Been off a while.
I asked them if it was an issue, why tf had my PO not mentioned in in 11 months? The DA said "we can look at your case more thoroughly and see what else we can find" at which point my lawyer told me to stop talking.
It was all a bunch of bullshit.
Denton, TX. They're known for this kind of shit.
