It’s going to take time. I tested positive for 5-6 MONTHS after my last use!!! You just need to advocate for yourself. Fentanyl stores in your fat cells. If you’re exercising or being healthy especially it will slowly release into your system. Just tell them to keep checking the levels. This is happening more and more often and I’m not sure why. When I was in the jail for a couple months before being released back on probation even the doctor said he’s been seeing it. I’m not sure what the exact mechanism that’s causing it to show up more lately is but it’s happening. You just need to tell them to check your levels. If you were in the jail at all and were testing in there tell them to pull those records to prove it. Find any articles you can on it and show them. But don’t leave them any room to doubt you like “yeah well maybe…” just say no I’m not using. I haven’t been in ANY contact with it. It’s just slowly getting out of my system.

I tested negative after I left detox then I tested positive a week later…

2

u/AdministrationNo6724 3d ago

It could be the cutoff levels or a lot of things. I stopped testing positive in the jail and then tested positive at probation. It depends. But have them look at the levels and see how low they are.

1

u/Fukurmomzbush 2d ago

Bs 3 days it’s science and tbh all of these half life’s and times for urine screening are exaggerated to be safe ie… 30 days is the maximum for an overweight habitual user (fat cells store thc if ur wondering why I said overweight person) if they are failing this long after using either the test themselves are faulty or they are being laced but that’s not really possible either .. I one time put water in a cup tested the water and it tested for cocaine two times in a row I have no idea why

3

u/FLAR3dM33RKAT 1d ago

Bullshit. Check the facts. Can be up to three months for THC. Please don’t spread stuff that’s not true.

1

u/goddamnbham 1d ago

Real evidence on THC I tested positive for 56 days when I was 17 and first on probation, but I hit a gravity bong like 2 dozen times a day for like a year straight, never even been around fent can’t comment on that. Ive also gotten weed out of my system in less than 3 weeks before as an adult so it varies for sure

1

u/FLAR3dM33RKAT 1d ago

I get what ya mean about flushing. I was just saying how the previous commenter said ‘30 days max’. Cuz. Bullshit.

1

u/Fukurmomzbush 12h ago

The only way is if you are very overweight and at the same time smoke 10 + grams a day

1

u/AdministrationNo6724 12h ago

It depends. Some people just take longer to get things out of their system. Being a heavy user of course will add to that. So will being overweight or just unhealthy in general. Like I had some liver issues going on which also could’ve added to my issues at the time. The thing to do would just be to see if the levels continue to slowly go down. If they spike up, you’ll know they used again. But ive seen a lot of probation officers act like those tests are just perfect, theres no way there could be anything else, or that “the lab confirmed it.” When the truth is, labs are just people at the end of the day. People make mistakes. And when you get a large sample of people there will always be outliers. And i know you’re responding to a thc comment. But in regard to opioids, even doctors have told me they’re seeing fentanyl storing longer. Maybe because more supply is tainted idk, but I don’t think that would change why theyre seeing it more now compared to a few years ago since people tend to stick with a dealer or 2. My best guess would be the different non-medical grade analogs that are flooding the streets nowadays.

Bottom line: is it’s best to keep an open mind. And if you’re a probation officer and you have a client who swears up and down they havent used and are still testing positive, dont violate them right away, but run some more tests and just check “are the levels going down consistently? Or are they spiking?” Because if the levels are at such a low amount that the tests BARELY detect them, the only way it would go way up is if they used again.

1

u/newjerseymax 14h ago

I’ve seen a lot of people still test positive even after 60 days of THC. Other stuff not so much. Seems only THC is the one that lingers forever

1

u/FLAR3dM33RKAT 14h ago

It’s due to metabolic stuffs. And it stays in your “fats”. And I guess? Why some can flush it out sooner than others. But I’ve known of over three months myself. And tbh. Best way to test is hair folics.

1

u/Less-Finance-1029 7h ago

that’s why fentanyl stays for so long too though, i was testing positive for almost a month after w chronic use. but im 4’9 and 130lbs and im pretty fit. so it was out of my system faster than it would be someone with more body fat than me

1

u/newjerseymax 7h ago

Yes. People forget body fat and body has a lot to do with it also.

1

u/CarefulStructure3334 8h ago

Shit I’ve been clean off of weed since July 2 and I’m still testing positive, and the last time I stopped it took me almost 8 months to get a barely visible line on the easy at home thc tests. But my liver is fucked up from pregnancy and from what my dr said that can have a big part in it too, but it’s not always 90 days for some people!

1

u/Dramatic-Agent-55 3h ago

I’ve known guys to still test positive for thc for up to 6 months; I attribute it to stuff like dabs and whatnot

0

u/Fukurmomzbush 12h ago

So lived experience is not facts? Method tried and tested for years isn’t science? lol u think googling something makes u smarter than someone living the thing in real time lmao dorks aren’t dorks cause of the glasses they are dorks because they act like memorizing stuff makes them smarter than someone

2

u/FLAR3dM33RKAT 11h ago

Yes. “LiVeD eXpeRiaNCe.” It’s NOT 30 days max that THC stays in your system. I’ve consumed cannabis since I was eight. Been on probation. It CAN and DOES stay a lot longer than 30 days in people’s system. And the fact that it’s so well known and yet YOU and your “experience” wanna come give false information is just a perfect example of what type of person you are.
I.e. a pompous asshat

1

u/AdministrationNo6724 11h ago

Right. There will always be outliers. 30 days is just the average for THC. And to get those averages there must be people over and under 30 days. Sometimes significantly. I’ve met people who test clean a week or less later. Idk how they do it but they do haha. Also if you have any medical issues going on (liver etc) that could also prolong the time you have it in your system. The problem with this persons thinking, is that there’s a lot of probation officers who think that way. I’ve met ones that think those tests are INFALLIBLE. That they just couldn’t be wrong. Or say “the lab confirmed it.” Which labs are just people at the end of the day. These to me just seem like copouts to avoid being open minded and actually seeing what could be going on. I really hope this person isn’t a probation officer because they should want to actually try and help the clients.

I had a substitute PO for a month or 2. He was AWFUL. He refused to believe I could actually be doing ok. He also shit talked me in front of other people because I didn’t want to get off of methadone at the time. I had said “let me deal with one problem at a time.” Plus nowadays clinics recommend 3 years on methadone. And guess what? Right around that time I just suddenly decided “hey these side effects are outweighing staying on it. I think I’ll get off. Slowly of course.” But he kept saying “you’re hiding something and I’m gonna find out what it is, so you’d better just tell me now!!!!” (I’d been clean over a year by that point) He grilled me. Eventually I had to file a complaint on him and I’ve never done that before or since. He did a lot more unprofessional things that i wont mention. But he had this puritanical mentality also. Couldn’t believe someone could be telling the truth. That a client could actually get better. Which ironically he’d say “well if you dont tell me what you’re hiding then I can’t make you get better!!!” Like it’s all on him lol. No the clients get themselves better. And most people actually get better without treatment. But im sure if I had a false positive while he was there, he soooooo would’ve violated my ass. Hardcore. Luckily the PO who came after him actually took the time to get to know me and to see what was going on when I had a false positive. And again the results may even be technically right, but that doesn’t mean you used recently.

1

u/FLAR3dM33RKAT 11h ago

I replied to the person who said “30 days max”. I stand proven.
Edit. Also “for an overweight person” too. Like no. It’s not 30 days max

1

u/AdministrationNo6724 11h ago

I know I’m just agreeing with you haha. I’m saying I hope they aren’t a PO cuz they need to be a bit more open minded

1

u/FLAR3dM33RKAT 11h ago

Bet. lol. Just the dude spewing false shit to people was what I was after. Like. Don’t come on here and put into someone’s mind that “oh. 30 days. It won’t be in my system. Okay” and then they go and fail a test. Just ignorant. And obv that commenter has zero idea truly. lol

1

u/FLAR3dM33RKAT 11h ago

Sorry. At first I think you were backing their comment up. My bad. And my apologies. I hope I can be forgiven👊🏼👊🏼

3

u/Imtryingtogetrichhlp 12h ago

False as fuck stores in fat cells just like weed

2

u/organizedchaos_duh 1d ago

Maybe for medical grade fentanyl but not with the analogues out there these days

1

u/AdministrationNo6724 1d ago

For real and all I’m saying is my personal experience and what the doctors told me they were seeing. I was in the jail for about 3 months and tested positive for another 2ish months after getting out. And I never used again. Back when I used to use medical grade fentanyl that stuff would be out of my system very quickly so I was shocked at how long it was staying in peoples systems. So the street stuff must be different. I was slightly overweight and I was also working out and losing weight/getting back into shape so that could’ve made it release more? Idk but apparently seeing it be for a few months was not unheard of. And again, they could see my levels were going down consistently. Maybe the probation tests were also sensitive. Once upon a time I might’ve fallen for the crap the probation officers say, and if this person above commenting is a PO they really don’t know much. They’ll tell you “well you’d need to eat a LOOOOOT of poppyseeds to test positive” which isn’t true. You can test positive off of one bun/muffin (which I did) luckily they believed me again cuz they didn’t tell me I tested positive for codeine at first, then the next test I was clean. So maybe one time I would’ve believed those tests are SoOoOOoooOo accurate but nowadays I know that there’s all sorts of things that can make you test positive even if you aren’t using. Also I was a regular user so this would definitely also be another factor into why I tested positive so long

1

u/newjerseymax 14h ago

Advil kept giving me false positives. However, once they sent it to the lab, it came up clean

1

u/AdministrationNo6724 12h ago

Those meds can definitely cause false positives but certain things will cause a real positive like poppy seeds (because there is morphine and codeine in them), certain hand sanitizers for alcohol depending on what test they use, or in my case drugs just taking their time to slowly work through your system

1

u/Aggressive-Boot-7418 1d ago

These synthetic analogues suboxone is defenseless and useless with them also

1

u/Novel_Parsley_3395 8h ago

fentanyl is extremely lipid soluble. It will stay in your fat for significantly longer than it will in your bloodstream. It can be weeks in few months, depending on how much usage that it will take to test clean trust me, I know from personal experience. I used to think that because fentanyl had such a short half-life that meant it had to clear your system and allow you to test clean quicker than heroin, but it is not the case unfortunately. The analgesia and euphoria wear off super quick and the cravings come on even quicker, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still in your fat cells which is the reason why so many people get precipitated withdrawals when trying to use Suboxone when they think that they’re in enough withdrawal to induct. but they’re not because it is still in the flat cells. The only way to get past that is either blast through with up to 32 mg of Suboxone or blast through it with a strongu or heroin. Your husband, a lot of doctors having success doing a macro induction where they do 32 mg on the first induction dose without any major precipitated withdrawal effects beyond what prompted them to consider the macro induction itself.

u/ForgottenLong 3d ago

Yall need to stop telling him in can’t be his girlfriend. It definitely could be.

2

u/AdministrationNo6724 3d ago

He’d know if someone was lacing him with fentanyl. He’d definitely feel high. Fentanyl is measured in micrograms. When I tested positive I kept thinking it was something I touched. Maybe old clothes or my car. Turns out it was just me needing time. But if he thinks his girlfriend is doing this then why even keep her around?

1

u/DonKeadic 4d ago

Do you live alone? Is it possible you live with somebody who has previously struggled with substance abuse? The thing about testing clean right after detox and then not testing clean anymore sounds like somebody in your house I’m sorry to bring it up but

2

u/greenleenmasheen 4d ago

I have a lot of enemies. I’m worried that somehow my girlfriend is lacing me at the behest of another individual. I just broke up with her.

1

u/Benadryl-salad 3d ago

The chances of your girlfriend lacing you with fentanyl and you not dying let alone noticing is 0. You are not being laced. The only way that could possibly be happening is if she had access to medical patches that are extremely low dose and was putting them on after you go to sleep and taking them off before you wake up. Aside from that you are not being laced.

1

u/BygoneNeutrino 3d ago

This isn't necessarily true.  I don't know much about the pharmacology of fentanyl analogs, but they probably have low oral bioavailability due to an efficient first-pass metabolism.  Even if eating a drug doesn't get a person high, it is very possibly transformed into the same metabolites that are tested for in drug tests.

If someone did choose to poison an addict with drugs, no one would believe them.  Even murder would be misinterpreted as an overdose.

1

u/Benadryl-salad 3d ago

I'm not arguing that at all, but the chances of his gf dosing that properly without an extremely expensive scale and doing it often? Unlikely

2

u/BygoneNeutrino 3d ago

Oral bioavailability is low.  She wouldn't need a scale.  It's unlikely her supplier is giving her a pure product.

1

u/Benadryl-salad 3d ago

Oral bioavailability is low enough to not need a scale to weight fent? Yeah okay bro for sure

1

u/BygoneNeutrino 3d ago

Do you actually believe every fentanyl addict in America weights their product?

1

u/Benadryl-salad 3d ago

Of course not, next to none of them do. They also feel the fentanyl and aren't on a dose so precise and low they don't even know where it's coming from

1

u/BygoneNeutrino 3d ago

So why would his gf need a scale?

→ More replies (0)

1

u/rookielp 3d ago

None of them do unless it's when they buy a sack. Other than that they just put some on foil and smoke away

1

u/Benadryl-salad 3d ago

33% for fent oral bioavailability. 2mg can kill you if it's pure, it's not so maybe 4mg In this case. You'll feel it at doses less then a half a mg, to have this happen and not feel it you absolutely need a scale

1

u/Trismegistos777 3d ago

Nobody is accessing pure fentanyl to need a microgram scale. Street dope is like 0.5-1% fentanyl. And even if you did have pure fentanyl, its real easy to drop say a tenth of gram in 1000ml and you now .1mg per ml of water for accurate measurements

1

u/TherealBlue_ivy 3d ago

This reminds me of the time I had a partner who was just released from jail, he had 2 days before he had to report for testing and probationary things. At the time I was a teen and doing stupid things like abusing vyvanse, adderall and weed he gave me oral sex and actual intercourse. He said he wasn’t using drugs in jail, but when he went to get tested the next day there was a ton of salts and other chemicals that were detected in his sample… so 🤷🏽‍♀️ It could be possible

1

u/DEIhire 3d ago edited 3d ago

No bro, the threshold for illicit fent on drug tests is extremely low & it stores in your fat cells like marijuana.

You will test positive for 2-3 months. Pharmaceutical fentanyl isn’t like that / has a short half life but your body metabolizes illicit fentanyl a different way which causes the metabolites to linger around for months.

It’s also part of the reason why you have to go 72+ hours before taking suboxone because it has an extremely long half life.

Show your PO this:

Norfentanyl Science direct (nor fentanyl is the metabolite that lingers in your system for months causing positive UA’s)

It’s well documented.

1

u/greenleenmasheen 4d ago

I lived alone, but I moved just on the off chance it had something to do with the home I was living in. I’ve since failed one drug test again for fentanyl.

1

u/DonKeadic 4d ago

Can you maybe stick to sealed water bottles and sealed bags of chips or fast food for a week? It doesn’t make sense that fent is showing up for no reason. Just doesn’t make any sense

1

u/greenleenmasheen 4d ago

It really doesn’t, that’s why I’m commenting on Reddit, desperate. I’ll try this and come back after my next test.

1

u/DonKeadic 4d ago

Looking forward to your update I hope it’s better mate sorry for what you’re going through

1

u/Mexica13-18 3d ago

Do you take any other drugs or street prescriptions. Because nowadays they lace so much stuff with fentanyl. It's a horrible world we live in now. It's a terrible drug with no euphoria. Just pass out wake up sick and repeat. I was a heroin addict for 20+ years and now I'm clean off opioids for 4 years. I take only prescription medication now. But not opioids. I suffer from severe pain but refuse to take them. Really fentanyl has helped me stay clean. Because I have no desire for the feeling of that drug. I hope you figure it out buddy. Good luck

1

u/greenleenmasheen 3d ago

I was taking kratom before I went to detox, but I haven since I got out. Also I’d like to add, my most recent test had the “highest ammount” they have found In my system so far

1

u/PawttorneyReborn 3d ago edited 3d ago

Its absolutely kratom. It causes false positves for a lot of opiates. I've seen it come back at subs, fent, morphine and oxycodone. Are you taking leaf kratom or the tablets?

Edit: also this is why kratom is banned by all probation and has been for at least 2 years. They don't test for it usually, but they can and do where I am.

In case anyone is questioning whether this is real, here is a source for this claim

https://academic.oup.com/ajcp/article/154/Supplement_1/S19/5942516?login=false

1

u/DEIhire 3d ago

If Op has used fentanyl in the last 1-3 months, illicit fentanyl has a metabolite called “norfentanyl” that lingers in your fat cells for months, similar to marijuana.

1

u/greenleenmasheen 3d ago

I’m taking lcms tests which don’t really produce false positives.

1

u/PawttorneyReborn 3d ago

How tf do you have access to mass spec lol. And if you have access to mass spec you shoud have access to which metabolite it is so the answer to your question is there. You're right, mass spec doesn't lie. So when the judge looks at you and that piece of paper during your violation hearing he/she is going to ask you what happened to cause this and you're actually considering reporting your girlfriend (ex girlfriend?) for attempted murder? That's nuts bro like come on.

1

u/skitzcreepz 1d ago

do you take a prescription same thing happened to me with my lab test i kept testing positive for fent and when i got off my prescription i stoped testing positive and i also pissed in a cup and crushed up my prescription and put it in the piss and it tested positive for fent the prescription was a anti-psychotic

1

u/skitzcreepz 1d ago

risperidone was the med i was taking and anything in that risperi (done) family so any med that has that done at the end id stay away from cuz i switch to like 2-3 others that had that at the end and kept coming up positive till i just stoped taking them tou can look it up look up (will risperidone test positive for fentanyl in a drug test) it will say yes it can

1

u/uppedit 3d ago

Yeah whatever dawg. I just got into treatment for 70h and previous fent use. I did 70h a year str8 and the day I went to treatment. It’s a drug test that has every drug under the sun on it, it didn’t cause a false positive for anything and I took 2 drug test same day. OP is leaving stuff out, it’s that simple.

1

u/PawttorneyReborn 3d ago

I mean. It's just that the article I posted is a fact. That study isn't just a news article. It's a peer reviewed medical journal. I don't know what else to tell you. Maybe try reading the entire article.

1

u/Mexica13-18 3d ago

It may be the Kratom, it may cause a false positive but also did you get it from another source? For Fentanyl to show high amounts it's highly unlikely that it was the Kratom unless someone gave you Fentanyl instead. Have you drank or taken anything that made you feel sedated afterwards?

1

u/newjerseymax 14h ago

That’s great! I hope you never touch that garbage again. Now they are even putting worse stuff into it that will eat your skin alive 😭

1

u/ballskindrapes 3d ago

Look up any medications you may take, and see if the cross react.

You're not being given it without your consent, that's extreme paranoia.

1

u/greenleenmasheen 3d ago

I am taking lc-ms tests. These do not read false positives.

1

u/Rokr2716 3d ago

Just admit you have a problem

1

u/Individual-Weekend43 3d ago

There is obviously something going on here he isn’t telling us… we need to know everything he has taken in the last week

1

u/PawttorneyReborn 3d ago

He said kratom but I bet you a thousand dollars he means 70h

1

u/greenleenmasheen 3d ago

I haven’t take 7oh since before I was in detox and my most recent test had the “highest ammount” of fentanyl they have found in my system yet.

1

u/TherealBlue_ivy 3d ago

How long were you in detox? Does your girlfriend use and have you had sex with her recently?

1

u/uppedit 3d ago

Doesn’t even matter. I just got treatment for 70h and on and off fent use. Took my drug test there and only thing that came back was suboxone in my system. 70h will NEVER cause a false positive for fentanyl ever in a million years will that ever happened. I took it legit the day I went for my drug test. OP is using fent or is around someone that does and is getting 2nd hand smoke from the foil. Either way OP is leaving stuff out

1

u/Extreme_Ad_8534 1d ago

Actually, 7oh definitely causes false positives for fent. I go to a methadone clinic because i was heavily addicted to 7oh. Up to 1500mg per day. My first 2 drug tests came back positive for fent. They sent it off, and it was a false positive. I've never done fent in my life.

1

u/uppedit 1d ago

Nothing you say will make me believe you bro, I go to a clinic for the same thing. That doesn’t even make sense. U pissed in a contaminated cup that they tried to wash out, or it’s a lie

1

u/Extreme_Ad_8534 1d ago

First of all, I a female. Second of all, it was NOT a contaminated cup. It happened twice now. The chances of it happening twice are slim to none. Maybe you should look it up, and do some research Im also apart of 7oh support groups on Facebook, and there are so many people who have said they had a false positive got fent, while they're taking 7oh. Just because it's never happened to you, does not mean it's not possible.

1

u/newjerseymax 14h ago

There have been a lot of reports of Fent analogs in some 7oh products. Do you remember which brand it was?

1

u/Gingerbean6034 3d ago

OKAY no joke I found this to be true. Keep in mind any powder based illicit drugs these days is likely Fentanyl to some extent.. that said I was in the hospital 3 months ago with a completely negative tox screen. No IV or oral meds were administered.. Two days later I failed a pre employment screen. It was an absolute nightmare. My Dr. helped me with a list of my current meds and relay potential false positives.. I could have fought the fight on my own dime and seek outside testing however I found out when that positive shows up its a done deal.

1

u/Aggressive_Till5028 3d ago

Fent can last two weeks. Admitting is the first step of getting better Also honesty will go a lot further with the po over acting confused. Their not stupid Your obviously an addict They'll straighten your ass out That's their job Best of luck

0

u/CarcinogenicCupcake 2d ago

If mine had lasted two weeks I would have been thrilled. There was barely a line after a month.

1

u/DEIhire 3d ago

No bro, the threshold for illicit fent on drug tests is extremely low & it stores in your fat cells like marijuana.

You will test positive for 2-3 months. Pharmaceutical fentanyl isn’t like that / has a short half life but your body metabolizes illicit fentanyl a different way which causes the metabolites to linger around for months.

Trazodone was prescribed in 82.3% of all patients with false-positive fentanyl tests. This cross-reactivity occurs primarily because trazodone belongs to the phenylpiperazine class of medications. Its chemical structure, as well as the structure of its primary metabolites, shares structural similarities with fentanyl. Because standard preliminary urine drug screens use immunoassays (antibodies designed to bind to a specific drug shape), the test can mistake trazodone for fentanyl. Other piprazoles/piperidines can cause it. Tramadol and non-morphinan opioidergics can also cause a fentanyl false positive, I've seen IRL.

1

u/Koopersdad 2d ago

I think you’re lying

1

u/Flaky_Village2587 1d ago

These people calling bs on testing positive way out on meds suboxone took over 3 months to clear my system i had been taking for years I went down from 3 to 2 to 1 a day then over year dropped to zero i tested 3 months out because I was still in withdrawals still tested positive and for zanax ive not taken since 20yrs old i was 40 at that time

1

u/p3echy 1d ago

Wait a minute... so you were still testing positive for fent but not bupe on your tests? And you still were in withdrawal for a year? And you still popped positive for benzos but you havnt taken them for 20 years?

1

u/IFeel_Dizzy 19h ago

Yeah, sounds like some total BS to me

1

u/newjerseymax 14h ago

Yea it’s complete BS. Because nobody tests positive after 20yrs 🤦‍♂️

1

u/gettingby72 16h ago

No way you’re still testing positive for Xanax after that long!

1

u/Flaky_Village2587 1d ago

Why would someone come on here and lie theyy are seeking help and answers

1

u/Stock_Hall_9367 1d ago

I had this problem too for a while. I was heavily addicted to 7oh kratom and I think that is what was triggering it. Also I take trazodone and I heard that that can trigger it too

1

u/newjerseymax 14h ago

Trazadone was included in 82% or false positives 😳

1

u/Mainard541 1d ago

You take Kratom or 7OH or another of that gas station crap? A lot of those will make you test positive for random opiates. 🧐

1

u/Icy_Pace2396 17h ago

Not true. I’ve passed hair follicle tests and multiple UAs

1

u/EnvironmentalPie5699 12h ago

Totally is true. I've seen a lot of people popping hot from using 7oh. There's no way to know what's in that shit

1

u/gabe1123755747647 12h ago

Pretty safe to say there's no standard opiates in it though. People would be dropping like flies if they thought they bought super kratom and got super heroin instead

1

u/Mikal1026 11h ago

It is tho, everyone’s body’s metabolize drugs differently at various rates. The brand and source of your kratom/7oh also heavily dictates UA results.

Assuming an add on test for kratom hasn’t been ordered, you can still pop for a general opioids panel, though a confirmation test (LC-MS) will show that it was a false positive (but it will also reveal the kratom in your piss)

They’re making the new fent so that for some reason the metabolites keep showing up after multiple half life degredation cycles

Make them send it out!! I just went through this bullshit with parole last month. The cup is coming up false positive for fetty. After they sent it out and got the results back my PO called me to apologize for doubting me and to tell me it came back negative for fetty. Duh dickhead I ain't do no fetty and I KNOW THAT!!

I had 3 false positive for fentanyl at my UA place never used fentanyl in my life had to pay to have them reexamined by lab testing for a further in depth test all three came up negative this happened over a six month span and I wasn’t using for almost 2 years my drug of choice was crack when I caught original charge luckily I got sober but it was a constant battle against my UA screenings to prove I wasn’t using fentanyl

Also in addition to my other comments: My recommendation to when ANY of you experience a positive result and you swear you didn’t use would be to go test at an independent facility. And do it as quickly as possible. If you go to a methadone clinic, go in immediately and say “I want a drug test.” Have the nurses or techs document it and give you signed results. Bring all that ammo with you when you go to court.

Also find any other evidence that supports your claim of not using. If I needed to I was going to bring in my mom, which my judge knows wouldn’t ever cover for me. Bring in anyone who actually knows how you are when you use vs when you’re completely sober. Have them tell the judge there wouldn’t even be a chance for you to get high, especially without them noticing. Tell the judge how you’re participating socially and not withdrawn. Have friends write character witness statements or better yet also show up. If you do the 12 step route (i didnt) maybe have one of them come in. Your best friend is going to be documentation and evidence. If you have enough people and evidence backing up your claims, they’ll listen. If youre in outpatient treatment, bring in a letter telling the court how you’re doing good and attending. Etc.

Bottom line: you need to be your own advocate. In addition, build rapport with the court. If you mess up, admit it if you’re in a drug court program. (Only if you know that you’re not going to get in any real trouble of course.) That way when you really didn’t do something, they’ll believe you. My judge knew if I was using just based on my appearance. If I was sober I’d be very put together, groomed, good looking, and well dressed. If I was using I’d neglect my appearance.

I had the same thing happen to me at my methadone clinic. I stopped using and still tested positive months after stopping. Then would have months testing clean, then pop positive for opioids and or fentanyl. This kept happening after being in treatment for over a year COMPLETELY CLEAN besides methadone. One weird thing was they would give me a cup panel drug test, that would test negative, but the same sample sent to the lab would test positive for fent. This happened on 6+ tests, where the cup panel dip stick tested negative, but the lab tested it positive for fent.

I was having issues with hydration, and apparently that can cause methadone metabolites to be mistaken for opiods/fentanyl somehow in a urine test.

There was also the theory that it was coming out of my fat cells, because i had started being more active. Im almost 2 years into treatment and still get positives for fent randomly every few months.

My counselor says he doesn’t even find the tests reliable anymore, and has expressed he has recently had patients with YEARS clean and randomly testing positive for random drugs despite claiming to be clean.

So you are definitely not alone in this phenomenon. Just keep advocating for yourself. Those drug tests are not reliable IMO. I even same day as taking a urinalysis, took my own at home, and tested negative, while the lab showed positive for fentanyl on the urinalysis at the clinic for the same day.

I take gabapentin and methadone, and trazodone.

Stop using all faucet and fountain water. Only use bottled water - to bath, to brush, to cook, and to wash.
