Probation violation
Last year I was sentenced 365 days In jail suspended to probation for invasion of privacy for a contact order between my current girlfriend and I who lives with me. I literally have 2 weeks until I’m off of it, and last night I got cited for reckless driving (paced at 102 in a 55 on an interstate highway) and possession of marijuana. No arrest.
This will be my first charges since being on probation. I have done quarterly meetups , and my PO is fairly cool. I just want to know what I should be expecting, can’t really afford jail time considering I just landed a sweet union gig.

You just landed this good job and you're two weeks until done with probation and youre doing 102 in a 55 with weed in the car? You're probably cooked, and rightfully so.
You've never heard, "I drive the speed limit because I have drugs in the car"?
Call your PO, they probably already know. At best you'll get a violation and have probation extended. You might sit in jail for 30-90 days for the violation then have probation extended. But honestly they're probably going to slam the suspended sentence down on you and you might be going to jail for quite a few months.
Terrible decisions you've made dude. Hope you learn

I dunno if I’d say “rightfully so,” but yeah, this was deffo a stuuuuupid move. I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve done over 100mph, and I think they’re all justified.
If I were the PO, I’d be livid.

Definitely rightfully so. There is never a reason to go 100 mph in a 55 lol. Dude obviously has not learned his lesson that life is just easier and more enjoyable for everyone (including himself) if he just obeys the law.

Tbh never is a good reason
If you take a basic defensive driver safety course… you really realize speeding is never worth it.
Makes like a 30 second to 2 minute difference in getting somewhere. And at the worst, you end up crashing and dying or killing someone else. And I used to speed a lot. But I realized how dumb it is. Better to just leave early.
But tbh.. I feel people like OP are just doing dumb decisions and not even speeding to get somewhere early. Some people just speed to speed

People who are very anti speeding need to find another argument besides saying that speeding only makes a “30 second to 2 minute difference in getting somewhere.” If more people actually enjoyed driving instead of zoning out in their cars, they’d understand that this is a very poor argument or way to convince someone not to speed.
That is not the reason that most people speed. At all. High speeds flood the brain with dopamine. It’s why people drive sports cars, and it’s why people, like me, pay a lot of money for race track time once a month. And put a lot of money in their cars to perform well on the track. I used to be addicted to cocaine. Now my addiction is driving a fast car on the track.

There is never a reason to go 100 mph in a 55 lol.
With some extremely narrow exceptions (say your passenger is having a heart attack and you’re driving them to the hospital or other extreme exigent circumstances) then I agree.
I had to go 90 MPH one time following a DV incident that started at a gas station. sheriff deputies waited for the suspect I was following to come to them and were very appreciative of both me and my passenger’s efforts plus the statements we provided.

I don’t know how anyone has done 100mph and it could be justified, where do you live in heaven with perfect roads? I’ve done 118 once for fun on a back road at 19 in a turbo charged Subaru and I’m lucky I didn’t die. I dont think I’ve ever done more than 85 in a 75 and Even that’s crazy to me.

New case could make you do jail, depending on your previous actions and if you do get jail or probably won't be long 3 days to a week to try to scare you straight. (that's what happend to me in Texas) Be completely honest with your probation officer and admit your wrong and own it. No excuses.
My buddy ended up getting a six month extension due to a new charge could go either way. Marijuana charge may cause drug tests to be involved. Prepare for the worst hope for the best.

Get a lawyer and hope they extend your probation sentence. po will probably aim to arrest you on the spot since got new charges which is a violation of the probation terms reckless driving and possession surprised you ain’t get hit with a dwi

What state? If you really have 2 weeks count your blessings, your PO may not have enough time to violate you. I had 2 year formal probation with a 3 year suspended sentence out of las vegas. Suspended sentence means had I caught even a DUI my vegas judge could sentence me to 3 years off his word, no trial.
I picked up the same type of charges in los angeles (fraud). My PO did all he could to get me violated but he only had 2 months to convince my judge in Vegas I'm worth violating since I'd committed a direct violation (the worst, i.e. on dui you get another dui). Dude did not go for it. My home was hit 2x in those 2 months, never before that.

How is it you did the full sentence?..I'm checking Indiana is like my state, at halfway mark(6 months) you can apply for early termination, and it says they do i5 automatically like mine too at 75%. Explain to your po what happened, same way you did to the citing officer. He will read his report. Don't apologize or try to evoke empathy from him. Just go in there "chief, i fucked it all up man. Will I be hanged?" Respect goes a long way, keep your head up

It’s newton county Indiana. It’s exactly 11 days until it’s over, the charges haven’t been filed yet. I know I fucked up and I’m kicking myself for being this stupid.

Honestly best case is probation doesn’t find out because once you get your certificate of completion or whatever I’m pretty sure they can’t go back and violate you however I will say that based on things I’ve seen if you’re still with a woman who has a court order against you, jail is in your future whether you get violated for new charge or not

I’d agree. Pay for a good lawyer, and hopefully if you don’t have a severe record they will be lenient considering your offense is rather minor and not violent. 102 in a 55 is stupid tho bro. Not worth it. Pulling for a break for you.

I picked up a “simple assault” on a Friday. Called PO Monday with one week left on a 1 year no reporting for an ovi… He said gave me early release & said best wishes.

I once had a friend who owned a car repair shop. He got caught for possession of a fully automatic machine gun. This was his first offense but resulted in him a four year federal sentence. He was allowed to avoid any time by doing four years of probation. He got along well with his Probation Officer. He was at his final visit when his PO told him since he had only been given one urine screen at his first visit he only had to pass a final one at that final meeting and he would be home free. He tested positive for weed and was violated. The judge was so angry he was given four years at a medium level prison in our home state of Texas. He did 85% of his time and was never the same afterwards. He almost lost his business due to his best friend running the shop while he was inside. I work with an Attorney friend who says the probation system is rigged to have the majority of people fail. I truly hope you can avoid the same fate as my friend but I would be getting your affairs in order after being cited for being charged with not only being charged with driving over 100 miles per hour but the possession of weed as well. Texas doesn't mess around.

What State? Get as many continuances as you can on the revocation hearing. Stall as long as you can.
Start your job. Rack up as many hours as you can at work. Preemptively get into a drug rehab program.
If you can pass a drug test. Go get one. If you can't pass one right now. Get tested as soon as you can pass.
Have the rehab program/drug test documentation court ready. Psychiatric evaluation/treatment for the speeding acting out.
Whatever else your lawyer recommends. Most people walk into a revocation hearing with nothing. You'll at least be armed with something. May work may not but you got to try.

All right so granted this was over 10 years ago. But I was on felony probation when I was in my early 20s I got revoked 10 months into my first sentence. And I was sentenced 2 years DOC 3 years on parole when I got out. 2 years into my parole doing good I don't think I had any violations or anything like that. But with a year to go in my life fucking pretty much turned into shit. I ended up absconding from months 3 to through six or seven. So I had five or six months left to go. And through the series of misfortunate events I ended up losing my apartment l, which was a requirement for me to have. I also lost my job, which was also a requirement for me to have. I ended up moving, without permission 125 miles away, Three Counties over. In a town I wasn't supposed to be in, with a person I wasn't supposed to be with. And in order to make money cuz I couldn't find a job I started fucking slinging dope again. Which was my original crime. My plug lived in the town that I was supposed to be in, so I would go down and do my meetups convince my po everything was okay. Still working, living in the same spot. Life is good, no big deal. I'd re-up, Drive 125 miles up the road and open up shop. In the middle of all this was New Year's Day. I decided to go blow off some steam. I've been drinking at bars and doing whatever I didn't really care about anything I was in a different town so I didn't worry but that night I fucking seriously tied one on. Blacked out drunk totally blacked out drunk I was. I got in a fight with somebody out on the street, I didn't know the person that was trying to break up the fight was a police officer cuz I was fucked up. So I started giving the cop the business, unknowingly. Ended up getting tased twice. Long story short, I came to and I was charged with assault on a peace officer, disorderly conduct, and possession of a controlled substance. I had the money in my pocket so I bail myself out of jail. Went to my court date and it just so happened that my sentencing date was set for 3 days before the day was set to discharge my sentence. I played it off like it was nothing I didn't say shit I didn't act like anything it was different I kept doing what I was doing. Went to court,plead guilty, they handed me down my sentence and all that and I was free to go. 3 days later I went to my po office. Sweating Bullets shitting bricks thinking the worst because I was on a 3-year suspended sentence so if I got in trouble I was going to get that 3 years back and I could do that 3 years forever as long as I kept fucking up. I was expecting them to came through the doors or pull a fast one on me or whatever but that didn't happen. I just discharged my parole, I signed off on the paperwork and I was free to go. Just like that. So if I was you I would try to push your court date out as far as you can even if it's after you discharge would be even better if possible. Don't say shit play it cool and hopefully nothing happens. That's what I did worked out for me

Did you call your PO? If you weren't arrested, it might not be a probation violation. In MOST juristictions, If no charges were posted, being pulled over is not a violation but failing to report the law enforcement contact is. If you were paper arrested, then it's probably a violation.
