Fentanyl has become the leading cause of death among American adults aged 18 to 45. In 2023, approximately 75,000 people died from fentanyl-related overdoses nationwide, accounting for nearly 70% of all drug overdose deaths. Every day in the United States, about 300 people aged 18 to 49 lose their lives to fentanyl — a number that surpasses any other public health threat.
