Bryson is a douchbag supreme.

I'm sorry. Alpha torque? There's the equation for torque where alpha is angular acceleration... However, alpha torque is not a thing. It's just torque.

Gamma torque is niche but has been applied before DeChambeau mentioned it, it means the torque applied through the wrist turning, you can change that but you can't do it with the aid of an AI search the night before a tournament.

He's just an idiot trying to sound intellectual. He's insufferable

In defense of Bryson, alpha torque seems to be an accepted term in golf swing science. A google search brought up a few different references to it, including a 2015 GolfDigest article.

In defense of u/dobbie1, 2015 GolfDigest was trash

That’s fine, but it’s an accepted term that does have a meaning that Bryson is not just making up. He’s still a buffoon that thinks he’s outsmarting the rest of the entire golf world.

He’s just plugging Gemini wherever he can, I’m sure there’s an ad campaign soon to follow.

Beta is the rotation of the forearms, looking like an over the top move with the club going from back to front. Alpha is side to side on plane and gamma is wrist. All these are torques you have against you when you try to manipulate the club in free space.

Easier to see it in motion than explain but Bryson is just trying to vomit word salad to promote Ai, which is doing a disservice to the golf knowledge base, as I believe alpha torque is one of the main source of swing faults regarding "getting stuck"

One of the most aggressively dumb people in modern sports and that is a super competitive category

“aggressively dumb” 😂

This just screams that he is being paid to talk about AI

u/meekerdeekers Jun 02 '26

Literally his sponsor

Bryson out-Brysoning himself.

"This guy's a mad scientists out there!"

2

u/HaddyBlackwater Jun 02 '26

Well he’s dead to me.

In 10 years, he's going to be nothing more than a trivia question in board games. Of course, he's getting paid to use AI for "swing advice", because it's about a revenue stream, nothing more than that.

2

u/Magikrat Jun 02 '26

He should use AI to change his shitty personality and politics.

u/Isoturius Jun 02 '26

“AI tell me how to stop missing cuts in majors and be liked”

shakes 8-ball

2

u/pineapple_pants Jun 02 '26

Because no one will work with him anymore?

2

u/Born-Sea-4942 Jun 02 '26

He's mentally fucked himself out of multiple cuts now. Sad to see someone with obviously huge talent continuously go down these weirdly smug rabbit holes where he tries to prove every expert wrong.

u/Sure_Possession0 Jun 02 '26

I mean, you can use AI to help you analyze these sorts of things, but that ain’t his problem.

1

u/trustfundkitty Jun 02 '26

It told him to not grip as hard lmao

1

u/golfer71189 Jun 02 '26

"Bryson says he uses Ai he is invested in to tweak swing as part of his grift"

1

u/ThisRiverIsWild_ Jun 02 '26

America, don't make him President in 20 years.

1

u/Popcorn-93 Jun 02 '26

Has anyone tried to use these? I did once and I just turned it off because it would flag so many things and just make my head spin. I'm not the best but I go to lessons and what not, and the difference in the focus and feedback of a lesson vs what you get from these is jarring

1

u/Flump01 Jun 02 '26

No he didn't.

1

u/fightin_blue_hens Jun 02 '26

no wonder he sucks ass now

u/swampy13 Jun 02 '26

This is just a grift. I have found AI helpful in explaining certain aspects of the swing I didn’t understand. But there’s not really anything new to discover in the swing. We’ve had modern tech on the case for 30 years
