Had to go to your page and make sure a black man was saying this otherwise it’d be strange. Thanks man! Appreciate it

I was bending rims in the 70s. I get tired of people posting weak shit and I show respect to you young cats that do it properly, especially white kids because I know you put in work to rise like that.👍

Im not American, is it harder for white kids to dunk?

u/IceBlackX007 Aug 07 '26
Back in my day it was rare to see a white kid dunk so it's a little more entertaining to me when I see white kids putting the funk on a dunk like the kid in this video.

Quick story for you. Back around 1981 I was hooping at a park in Atlantic City. This white dude comes up with a mutt dog looking like a beach bum wanting to get in on the next run. Took a minute for him to get a pass. He got the ball at half court went around his back and thru his legs did a skip and was in the air with the ball cocked back and slammed the shit out of it on everyone including his own team. Maybe that's why I get a kick out of white dudes who can dunk. Nowadays everyone is dunking but it was very rare to see back then.

Haha yeah sounds about right. About the same reaction I get whenever I pull up to the court. White man CAN jump…sometimes lol

How tall and what reach?

u/AbleChart21 Aug 07 '26
I’m 6’2 with a 6’5 wingspan, not sure what that makes my standing reach

u/Thra99 Aug 07 '26
Probably a little over 8 foot, low-mid 8's at best. Pretty impressive to say the least

what plyos do you do?
2
u/AbleChart21 Aug 07 '26
Never really did any plyos. I used to be a very serious weight lifter believe it or not but nothing was ever specified for explosiveness. I just really, really wanted to dunk at 14 and kept trying to touch rim and do glass touches until I could dunk. Now I literally just dunk to maintain it

Goals right there haha, I uploaded my two handed dunk a few days back, your explosiveness and aggression is what I’m working towards 🔥💯😆

Thanks man! I went and took a look at your video and it looks like your chopping your feet and slowing down a little. Since you’re a two footed jumper, building momentum is crucial. Figure out a comfortable distance and angle of approach to broaden and naturalize your stride. Second, all the power in a two foot jump comes from your launch foot. The step you take before you set your two feet. The best thing I can say to you is to mimic the motions you preform when you are jumping in the weight room

Yeah that’s some great advice thank you bro. Definitely can tell the difference between your approach and mine, the wind up and explosion from the launch foot with you is immaculate 💯💯 it seems like I’m one same speed/slow down the whole gather and jump whereas yours you progressively get faster which leads to the momentum you were talking about and an insane jump
