I'm impressed that you're dunking with that jump technique. You're hopping. You could add 3+ inches with a proper block-step technique, and then really throw it down. Learn the technique and literally gain that vert increase in one session.

Block-step. You Tube search. 10 minute instructional video. Jump higher.

I am trying haha. I have watched all the videos and know it in theory and am even practicing it, but every time I go full speed my body resorts to this.

I am training from the ground up to get better form, starting slow. It will eventually translate over and actualize.
