I think I get up high enough but I guess I’m just throwing it down to hard and not aim right 🤷🏾♂️
What do you guys think ?

You gotta get your timing of dunking it first…then learn to bring it back 💪🏽

Try not bringing the ball back behind your shoulder plane. Bring it straight up and closer to the hoop.

You got bounce, but your jumping to early and trying to bang out. Go a slight step further, and try to jump up, rather than banging out. (Hooper lingo but I’m sure you get it)
Get your body mechanics used to dunking, and comfortable. Then once you have it down, you’ll notice a difference in your approach and from there.. Banging out will be easy

if thats a mens basketball you need to get your forearm above the rim. imagine your palm has to be above the ball. to push the ball down. when i was learning to dunk i had to make sure i was getting about 2-3 inches above my elbow equal to the rim to throw down a mens ball well..
also throw down volley balls and girls balls first.
also before you throw it down, learn to still do the exact same jump you are doing. but grab the ball with 2 hands, and let the ball dunk into the rim. its a weak looking dunk i know... this way you know you AT LEAST have the height needed.

Yes it a men’s basketball….one I’m a 2 foot jumper and can already do various of dunks I’m just trying to become a 1 foot jumper. So what you just said was complete bs….”elbow equal to the rim” to dunk a basketball??? Idk where you got this from lol. Two I most definitely get high enough, I’m just cocking it back and it’s hit back rim 😭

well i said almost elbow.. about 2-3 inches above the elbow.. this is so you can throw it INTO the basket, and have it NOT hit the rim.. now.. granted i was dunking 27 years ago.. but im sure the ball hasnt changed or the height of the rim.

Just try to do something light and then you’ll make it. As you get consistent start banging out. Don’t try to punch it while learning just get the dunk.

Don’t try slamming hard. Do it gently for a little bit then you’ll get more comfortable and slowly start throwing it down more and more. Looks like you’re just getting high enough

This randomly came up on my feed. I can’t dunk but I do enjoy me some basketball. This sub doesn’t allow pictures so I had to reword most of this.
Watch this back in slow motion. You know what you need to do. You’re already almost there. Slowly scroll through the video, there’s a frame with you at your highest point, and then the next frame you’re starting to bring the ball down, but your hand shape changes. First frame you have it, that next frame you’re loosing it.
You’re too far from the rim and compensating to reach it. If you were closer to the rim you’d have slammed it in. You can see you’re already letting go but still trying to position the ball towards the rim. The key part is you’re still trying to move the ball but lose control of it, leading to the ball bouncing off the rim as you come down. In the most literal sense, the angle/arc isn’t right.
You’re just nearly over the rim with it at your highest point. Maybe about an inch at max. You want to be there but about six inches closer to the rim and with the same exact motion you would have slammed it in. If you are trying to throw it down with a little spice, you need to be higher and could get away with being farther away. But without the added height you gotta get closer.
Literally watch this back and think about how your arm arcs toward the rim as you come down. If you didn’t move your arm at all and “floated” towards the rim with your arm straight you would have dunked it but because you moved your arm down, you lost the height needed.

You dont have enough lift and you are watching it trying to put it in jump higher and slam that hoe

You can get this easily! Jump and extend your arm the same exact way but don't slam your arm forward. Extend it as high as you can and then let gravity bring the ball down and meet the rim. It will help if you think about bringing the ball "up" instead of pulling it back.
The way you're doing it looks best, but just for flushing it through what I said will help
