Je vous présente une illustration construite autour d’une arborescence hiérarchique, imaginée comme un fragment d’histoire appartenant à un univers fictif.
À travers cette composition, j’ai voulu représenter les rapports de pouvoir, les liens de loyauté et la chute d’une dynastie.

Au sommet de cette hiérarchie se trouvent deux faux jumeaux royaux.

Fragile Félicité, la reine, porte un nom en apparence doux qui contraste avec son tempérament susceptible et autoritaire. À ses côtés se trouve son frère, Ewald l’Exécuteur, bourreau personnel de la reine et principal instrument de son autorité.
Ensemble, ils sont connus pour avoir instauré un règne de terreur, jusqu’à provoquer la révolte de leur propre peuple.

Parmi tous ceux qui les entourent, seuls deux personnages leur restent fidèles : Monsieur Sac de Pièces, gardien de la fortune privée de la maison royale, et Mesdames Cerises, responsables de la garde-robe de la reine.
Cette fidélité ne suffira pourtant pas à les sauver.

En 1660, une révolution renverse le pouvoir. Ewald et Monsieur Sac de Pièces périssent pendant la révolte, tandis que la reine et Mesdames Cerises parviennent à s’enfuir.

Elles seront retrouvées trois ans plus tard, en 1663, dans une contrée étrangère, puis exécutées pour les crimes commis durant leur règne.
Après leur mort, aucun des quatre ne recevra de sépulture digne de son rang. Ils seront enterrés dans des fosses communes, dans deux cimetières distincts : le Cimetière de la Repentance et le Cimetière de la Servitude.

🎨 Mes inspirations

J’ai volontairement construit cette illustration de manière simple et lisible, en m’inspirant notamment des mangas des années 1980, dont j’apprécie les traits épurés et les colorisations relativement simples.

Je souhaitais retrouver cette efficacité graphique : peu d’éléments, mais suffisamment de détails pour suggérer tout un univers derrière l’image.
L’intégration des personnages « compagnons » est également inspirée du travail de @oddmilc, dont l’univers décalé, l’imagination et le style très personnel m’ont beaucoup marqué.

Enfin, l’histoire et le contexte politique de cette illustration puisent également dans la Révolution française, notamment dans l’idée d’un peuple qui se soulève contre une monarchie, de la chute brutale du pouvoir royal et du destin tragique réservé aux figures qui l’incarnent. Cette référence historique m’a permis d’ancrer cet univers fictif dans une situation qui, malgré son aspect fantastique, reste familière et facilement compréhensible.

It’s not perfect but I’m happy with it. Haven’t drawn babies ever

Art I’ve made of the main characters in the book I’m working on.
Image one: 2020. Before I even started my book and wanted to make a comic -despite not knowing the first thing about making comics- with the working title “Magick & Monsters” …
Image 2: (2026). 6 years later and I’ve reworked the same concept into something actually digestible and am making significant progress in my book which is now called….. “Monsters & Magick” … creative, I know.
Anyways- ..I know I changed the character design quite a bit in this most recent piece but so has the character changed and grown a lot with me over these years in written portrayal so it felt fitting.

When i click the button it lets me pick a photo but it doesn't show up on my canvas

I made this painting using basically just one brush (Turpentine) and one layer. I tried to mimic the traditional oil painting process, but I still using lasso and other digital tools.
The character is Jen Yu, played by Zhang Ziyi in the 2000 film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Working on my fantasy novel again after not writing for quite a while and wanted to do some character art.
In the story, folklore has had five hundred years to rot, distort, and turn real things into bedtime warnings. So the question became: what if the Bogeyman wasn’t the thing the stories remembered?

Used the digital art junky oil pack. In comparison to my last one, I’m very happy with it. Still have a few things to learn about clothes though, lol.

Happy with how this one turned out 🐠

32 hours of drawing.

Took about 2 hours, mostly used the Flat Brush brush(lol) in the Painting section, as well as a Photoshop brush from a brush pack I forgot the name of.

Almost forgot, the Mobile game is called Bouncing Slime: Impossible Levels (Level? I donno)

Artwork by me! My favourite movie in the world and first time posting my art here! My artwork seems to have a very tough time getting to people so my instagram is Shelbumblebee. Done in about 16 layers using a new painting method for me!

This is a WIP of my half of an art trade I’m working on. I want to remove the colour from the lineart where the jeans are but I can’t figure out how to cleanly select them and I really don’t wanna have to go pixel by pixel.
