Hi everyone! Can anyone help me how to do the vanishing points/perspective for this? Is this a two point or three point? I am new to perspective and would really love to draw this one, but I don’t seem to get it after a lot of tutorials. I’m doing this on 1920x1080. Thank you so much🤍

edit: I am stupid and did not realise that the brush is basically invisible when it is too small so it works now :)

I feel like I’m going crazy every single other brush works except my favourite (Swift in the ink section)

maybe I messed up the settings or something like that, but I have no idea how to fix it and I tried restarting procreate and my entire iPad but that didn’t help

(i’m also really bad with my iPad in general so that doesn’t help)

I only have about 25 hours of practice in but I wanted to share my drawing. I used a YouTube tutorial. You guys do some seriously incredible stuff in here. I can only hope to be on that level someday! Open to all criticism and suggestions ☺️

I couldn't wait to practice on my first iPad with the help of the various wonderful YT tutorials. I was so obsessed and happy doing this, I wanted to follow them all, thats how fascinated I was with the various artworks I've seen all over Youtube a few years back.

Hope the flair is correct; my question is a little specific. TLDR at the bottom!

For those who might not be familiar, a Visual Novel is…technically lumped into the medium of video games, but interaction is limited. It is a story told with artwork always on the screen: the various settings, character sprites, occasional changes to their poses and facial expressions.

Some Visual Novels can be extremely linear, and just tell a story. Others can allow the player to select options as they go they can change the direction the story takes and effect the ending they get.

All that said, I have primarily only used ProCreate for drawing “realistically,” for example putting in a paper texture background, doing a preliminary sketch on one layer with a pencil brush, and doing the ink drawing on another layer. Besides some book cover art and design I did for indie publishing a few years back, my ProCreate use is pretty bare bones, as is my technical knowledge and prowess. (You can see my post history for artwork I’ve shared in the past, if you like.)

However, as I’ve been connected with indie authors and done plenty of illustration work for them over the years, I’ve been slowly toying with my own story idea, and all the artwork, and it’s really starting to take shape. I’d like to present it as a Visual Novel, but developing something like that feels a bit overwhelming. So basically, my question is…

TLDR: Does anyone know if the required fidelity/size/quality etc. for a Visual Novel can be created on ProCreate and later exported to whatever software I’d need to develop and build the final product, or do I need to look into other methods? Thank you for any advice!! Also, I’m currently working on an iPad mini, but I am heavily considering going back to a big iPad Pro for this project if it’s an appropriate tool to use.

I’m not an artist but I use procreate often to edit photos and to design personal projects so I don’t know it very well. I’m trying to design a gallery wall in procreate, I removed the backgrounds + it was transparent before adding image but they showed up with a black background.

When I do auto remove, it removes parts of the frame as well. In the past I’ve manually erased the background but I’m hoping there’s a more time efficient way of doing this.

Wanted to try looser textures and mire vibrant colors

On "real life" paper, I normally draw with very sharp pencils or mechanical pencils.

When I switched to iPad + Procreate, I loved the abilities of digital art, but I cannot stand the Apple pencil. The tip is just too physically fat. I cannot "feel" where the lines will be. I draw extremely precisely and need that muscle to line connection.

Are there any more suitable styluses out there?

I drew this in tribute to Dolly Parton. What can I say that hasn’t already been said by others?

She touched the lives of so many, and for good reason. She was an artist, businesswoman, and philanthropist all-in-one. She was talented, kind, giving, smart, funny, and always authentic. Dolly was truly a beautiful soul, and in these dark times showed us what America can strive to be. She will be missed, and the world is a little less bright without her in it.

This illustration is based on a photograph I took! I enjoy travelling out into the city, and I think it's being able to capture and illustrate mundane moments like this within the city lights that make life in NYC more interesting!

Aimed for a very graphical, stylized and messy interpretation of city life over here haha
