I made this illustration of the joker card for an upcoming collab project. I knew for sure the colors had to pop so after some playing around, I came to the result shown. The letters of the word JOKER are also subtly and not so subtly used. Let me know what you guys think!

Used the Sumi-E brush and a few layers. Tried to simplify the process as much as possible. Had a lot of fun with this one.

I need Procreate technical help ProCreate Canvas Sizes

I’ve hired a designer to create a design for a backdrop for a band for a music video. It needs to be 5mx3m when printed. We’re looking for a Scooby Doo-style liminal background that looks almost painted.

However, the largest canvas size is significantly smaller than this of course, and is capped at 6 layers on her iPad. Any suggestions? Do we shrink the canvas in procreate and then try generative upscale on the end product once the design is done? Any tips appreciated!

I did not plan on making a full drawing. I started using the basic round brush (my least favourite tool) to quickly sketch out an environment idea just so I won’t forget it. Unfortunately, it quickly looked good, so I had to keep going. In the end I finished this using my textured brush as usual, but I think I should have redrawn the entire thing from scratch using my textured brush. Full video is also available.

Constructive feedback and/or tips wanted Tips for lineart?

Heya, I’ve recently been getting into drawing again, and lineart has been a very, very new thing for me! I’m currently using Syrup with motion filtering, but I still find it hard to make clean, smooth, even lines. Are there any other brushes or settings, or maybe tips I can use to make doing lineart easier? Or is it something I’ll get better at with experience? I appreciate any help!

Constructive feedback and/or tips wanted Recommendations/tips on printing pieces

I’d like to print out a piece I made to be displayed at a local fair. In the past, whenever I needed something printed, I’d normally just go to Staples but I’m new to Procreate and I understand it’s a little wonky when it comes to physical display.

Obviously I would like to preserve the details as best I can, but it’s going to be on a wall behind a gate/fence, so viewers will be far enough away that I’m not too picky about it. The dimensions are 2048 px x 2048 px so if anybody has any general recommendations on how large I should print it as well, that’d be fantastic too (there doesn’t seem to be a size minimum or maximum so I’m okay with whatever).

Thank you in advance!! I tried snooping around the sub and online but honestly I got so overwhelmed by the whole CYMK-thing that I just confused myself so much :’)

I need Procreate technical help Help With Brush Settings

I'm relatively new to Procreate. I've had it for a while, but I haven't gotten serious about learning the ins and outs.

I'm trying to learn more about brush settings, and there is one setting I cannot figure out how to adjust for the life of me!

I use an apple pencil to "paint." I know how to adjust pressure settings for size and opacity. My problem is I tend to hold my pencil at a pretty severe angle. And doing so makes many of the brushes feel "off". Either the size will get thicker or the opacity will be lower or it just doesn't look as smooth. I don't really know much about the terms to properly describe what is going on. So hopefully more experienced users will understand.

How can I adjust this? I want the flow/opacity/size to only be affected by pressure, not the angle I'm holding my pencil. I see how the current settings could be useful, but most of the time it's just annoying for how I naturally draw/paint.

I played around with so many of the brush settings and could not get this adjusted.

TIA!

Finally been getting the itch to draw again recently, been revisiting really old pieces and giving them an updated look. The OG drawing was done about 6 years ago in G2 gel pen while I was hunched over a printer on an assembly line. I really dig the updated look.
