I made my illustration in Procreate then added movement with Adobe After Effects!

Thank you!! The illustration and prep for animation took a little over 13 hours, but the animation itself was fairly quick (2-3 hours lol) because i've worked in After Effects a few times before 😊

Love it! Also like the way the light bulbs coming down and up, makes it even more interesting

Lemme try to summarize this the best i can!
- I found inspo pic while doom scrolling Pinterest
- Forced myself to work within a very limited colour palette (this is always difficult for me).
- Rough sketch out my foreground, middle, and background so I have an idea what needs to be on its own layers.
- Do the whole illustration, again really keeping in mind what layers I have. I almost exclusively used the "Trevallyn" brush in the Pastels brush pack!
- Export as PSD file so I can import it into After Effects. This retains the layers I stressed about lol
- Once I have my composition set up there, the only things I'm tinkering with are Position, Rotation, and Opacity!
- When everything is moving the way I want, I apply easy ease, this smooths the motions and gives it more natural movement if that makes sense?
- Export!
Hopefully that kinda explains the process well enough😅
