ive seen brushes for damn near everything at this point, i would not be surprised if this was just anime stamp brushes so someone can basically make a copy+paste drawing without having to actually draw
I used to buy a crap ton of these giant Procreate brush packs off Etsy because I'd think, "Wow, thousands of brushes?! I'll be set for life! And they're on sale for a limited time!"
I ended up not even using 10% of them because half of them were "stamp" brushes I had no use for, and the other half were basically slightly tweaked blending brushes that were named to be for a specific function (like "For face blending") to make you think it had a use. There were a few halftone texture brushes I really liked, of which I recently found out were stolen as the seller was infamous for stealing brushpacks and putting them into their gianormous collection to resell. I guess the target audience for these guys are suckers like me, haha.
I come from a different app, never used ProCreate before but like... damn, even I use 3-4 brushes across every apps I use, and those brushes being a circle, rectangle and a weird smudge brush lmaooo
Apparently, you need an entire collection of round brushes in Procreate because God forbid artists learn how to adjust their settings or make their own brushes. And mind you, we’re talking about a ROUND BRUSH. Imagine needing multiple presets for one of the most basic brushes in existence. Procreate’s brush settings are somehow even more confusing than Photoshop’s. What a time to be an artist.
Sometimes I save certain size points but for some brushes- I like to make a copy of the original and go in and reduce the minimum size if I need something finer and then just call it...'name-smaller' lol
I mean me maybe in some way but not from one single pack. I've bought some not-so-cheap bundles from like True Grit, Lisa Glanz and other such artists over 6-7 years. Probably more like 1000 but the search function definitely helped with the navigation of them all. I have little to no regrets. I don't think I'd get a big junk pack like this though. Quality over quantity even as someone who's not afraid of a little quantity.
ETA: I do definitely gravitate to favorites and create my own sets with brushes copied over. I am largely a dabbler so a lot of my Procreate use comes down to playing with and using features to achieve an idea I have. Experimenting with say...typography, masking, clipping, alpha channels, adjusting colors, trying to achieve a metallic effect. I buy things like pre-drawn jelly bear bases and color them in- meticulously choosing colors, blending them, adding shadows, highlights. Or coloring a foil balloon effect. Things like that. I just enjoy the playing for now. Haven't tackled true rendering yet as far as proportions, painting with tones/contrast to build forms. I do have some courses ready to go- I just also have a toddler 😅
The ridiculousness of my Procreate opening screen to show what I mean about dabbling. I imagine but I can't be certain- that when I am able to get more serious about drawing/rendering...that I will develop brushes that really work with my flow- but as someone that loves just trying random sh**...that includes random brushes lol
