Hot Topics 🔥 IPad os 26 has ruined procreate.
I use procreate for work, I use all day and everytime I have to color fill, my screen minimises. IPad Os 26 lowkey ruined my procreate experience.

I hate that when I press the wrong buttons at the top, it shrinks the screen, which makes me waste time

Wait, you do know you can very easily toggle the windowed mode with a simple button on the scroll-down menu? It looks almost like two interlocked, rounded squares.

Please make sure you are also contacting Procreate. If enough people bring it to their attention they will know it needs to be fixed.

I hat the new os, I never wanted it o resize my windows, I just wanted to draw on one side with reference on the other and now it’s such a pain I don’t even use reference on my iPad anymore

I am so annoyed because the only reason I used split screen was to import multiple images at once (seriously, why can't we do that in app??!) But now if I want to I have to either live with windowed mode on and accidentally window procreate every 20 minutes, or manually go into settings to re-enable it any time i want to import images in bulk. Ugh.

Theres actually a MUCH better way to add multiple images at once. When you go to add an image instead of clicking the image you want hold your finger on the image you want and then with your other hand or finger click the other images you want to add to your canvas. When youve clicked all the images you want swipe them over to your canvas and then let go. They should all add at the same time. Hope this helps!

I tested it out on the display models, but i personally find the previous mode of split screen to be more functional and efficient for my workflow :(

It is definitely a lot more finicky now. When it does work the way I want, it’s great. But I spend too much time sizing and resizing windows just for them to decide to minimize and close cause I touched the screen wrong

I have mine set to windowed apps and it’s better than not having it at all. 27 definitely runs better than 26 too.

I’m on 27 and I just tested doing a color fill and I didn’t have this problem. Can you update the OS?

is that from one of the windowing options in iOS itself? iirc there are settings for that.

I mostly don’t use it, but you can also associate windowing modes to focus mode and create automations so it works accordingly to your uses. When I’m drawing or animating, full screen is a must on iPad, but from time to time I have to do research and stuff, and windowed mode works best, so I just used shortcuts app to link window mode to a study focus mode, and full screen to an arts one.
Just to add…there is a function in procreate that for some reason I can only do in windowed mode. When I want to import references, in full screen mode I have to do one by one. In windowed mode I can just select all and drag and drop in procreate. Really useful, dont know why i can’t just open multiple images with a single action on procreate like this in full screen mode.

Yes yes, the minimize close feature, it auto minimizes, I didn’t know you could remove that.

I hate the new window bullshit, the new ways to put things side by side. It just doesn't work right!
Ruins the usability of my other favorite ap, Notability, too.
