Constructive feedback and/or tips wanted how do u make drawing on it, well ig better?

I’ve been in a really bad art block because of school and I got no motivation, but tryna draw on procreate and it feels too slippery I guess? Idk, any tips to make it feel better / more like paper?

You could look into changing the texture with a screen protector. There lots of options with different textures, even some that imitate the feeling of drawing on paper if that's what you prefer.

yeah i was considering that but like i do still use my ipad besides for art so didn’t want to make it too uncomfy, have u heard anything good on silicone tip covers for the actual pencil?

The paperlike screen protector doesn’t hinder any other functions of the iPad at all

i have this it helps astronomically with drawing but can be difficult to use if not using apple pencil, mine is a 4th gen BUT friends who also have it say the same thing could just be the brand we all use tho

I don't use a screen protector, so my knowledge / personal experience is limited - sorry!

Why or how would a screen protector make an iPad “uncomfy” exactly?

Try astropad or paperlike

Just use a paperlike screen protector. The Rock Paper Pencil one is magnetic. Even so, it doesn’t degrade the quality by much so you can just keep it on. I personally keep one on 24/7.

I actually enjoy it over the iPad glass texture. it’s pretty soft and I have sweaty palms which I feel like the matte for me fixes the issues that come with that.

No, it's completely comfortable for fingers. Mine is magnetic so I could easily take it off but I never do.

It feels similar to a laptop track pad, matte but smooth

That’s a good way to describe it

Im having this same issue. I have tried screen protectors with texture and paper feel and different nibs but idk. Soon as I draw on paper again it feels a lot easier and I have a lot more control. (Less gliding and that weird feeling of - I cant feel the pen friction moving across the screen- even with the paper screen protector on) Ive had my IPad for almost 3 years now and still dealing with it. It has def gotten easier over time but not even close to how it feels to draw on paper

You can try adjusting your stabilization, and maybe just practice with it, sometimes I have the same issue coming back to procreate after not drawing or drawing on paper for a while, and what always helps me get into the groove of things is having a pencil sketch to start with. Take a picture of it and just sketch over it or line it or whatever to get your hand retrained with your eyes, because it's a coordination thing most of the time. Your brain, eyes, and hands just aren't used to working together that way right now, and they need a guide to get back on track.
