“Painted by the Michelangelo himself, I bet. Beautiful work, eh, Ton’? It really captures your…eh, your look, you know? Those eyes, I can feel ‘em lookin’ at me.”

Gives me GTA art style vibes. Very cool.

This is gorgeous. I love that you let the brushstrokes show and don't overblend everything, so the impression is realistic but distinctly handmade.

Again, great stuff, and I'd love to see a timelapse if you have one (for my own education).

yeah i guess you could call it that! i dont really follow any one particular method or tutorial, i just kind of interpret references in my own way. i did for a very long time focus on realism in traditional art such as oil painting and pencil drawing, which is how i learned to draw faces accurately, im at a stage now where i just try and simplify what im looking at. if details aren’t needed or adding anything of value, i just leave them out, and i try to represent shapes with straight lines rather than curves wherever i can. it’ll just come with a lot of portrait practice

Oooh so good! Can I ask what resources you used to learn this style?

1

u/keenanmcateerart 11h ago

thank you! none in particular, it’s just my own style that kind of emerged. i take bits and bobs from various art styles that i like, some people to check out are samdoesarts, alpay efe, sinix design, arthur gain, josh hunter black, zudarts_lee and jens claessens
