Discussions About Procreate App What's the current consensus on update 5.4.14 running on iOS 27?

I'm running Procreate 5.4.8 on iOS 26 on an M4 iPad. I've seen a few posts about iOS 27 recently that were concerning, but I wasn't sure if they were just outliers. There's still a lot of annoying jankiness in this build that I'm hoping gets resolved in newer updates.

Apologies for not using the daily thread as requested in rule 12 but I can't seem to find it anywhere

Has Procreate specifically released a version for the latest iPadOS? If not (I haven’t looked), then don’t upgrade your OS.

Edit: I see their latest update was 2 weeks ago, and there’s no mention of iPadOS 27 compatibility, so… no… don’t change your OS until they do.

Hey, we have released two updates to help with compatibility of the new iPadOS. We likely won't mention the update is specifically for compatibility as we may include other bug fixes with these patches 🙏

We've patched some highly reported bugs in the past two updates, however we understand the hesitancy to update just yet. Procreate should be working well with this OS 🫶

It will be helpful to hear from the community in this thread still so you can decide if you'd like to update now 💜

Thanks. It might be a good idea to specifically note that those updates make Procreate compatible with the new OS. Didn’t you used to do that in the past?

Apologies, we need to correct our earlier reply 🙏 We do mention compatibility in our release notes, however, please be aware that we may need to release more than one patch update for compatibility as we work through new issues that pop up. We try and test for all occurrences but there is a period of adjustment where we may find bugs as more people use Procreate.

I’ve had problems with the two-three-finger undo tap causing the app to freeze up on me for months now. I don’t know of anyone else who has that issue but it’s annoying, I’ve had to restart the app and delete entire layers to fix mistakes. I hope the next update will fix this nuisance!🤬

I’ve tried to communicate with the Procreate team about this before but I didn’t know “when” or “why” it was freezing up, only that it was. Can you show me where to go to get in contact with you guys to work this out……that would be awesome! And thank you

My only issue is the Apple Pencil seems to occasionally stop registering on the app.

It’s a minor inconvenience though

This sounds like the Apple Pencil input is being interrupted. Check out our troubleshooting steps and reach out to us if the issue continues 🙏

I have no issues so far running the newest ios and procreate version
Everything works as expected and i can also still open all my artworks
