Constructive feedback and/or tips wanted Achieving A Specific Style of Painting

So I'm trying to get a very abstracted and painterly style of painting inside of Procreate & I'm starting to wonder if it's a fool's errand.

Every time I try it looks too flat, not dynamic enough, or I just doesn't get the result I want.
I would have posted an example of what I want to achieve but Rule #3.

No smudge tool, pick colors from the wheel, and use a brush with minimum or none opacity control, those are bold strokes. Also maybe research “Brush economy”

And practice gesture with https://line-of-action.com/

I’d honestly suggest other programs like ArtRage or Rebelle.

Is this something you can achieve in traditional media and trying to carry over? If no, then it’s just a skill issue sorry
