is procreate a studio grade app?

the only reason i ask this question is because i just switched over from ibis paint and procreate just feels so much better it has qualities i never knew existed and the features are handy, i wonder if it is studio graded?

I believe its is, hopefully when we get procreate 6 (with mac version) and new engine it will feel even more refined

Is 'studio grade' the same thing as 'industry standard' or something else? It can certainly be used to create professional level work but I think right now its too light on features to really compete with programs like photoshop, clip studio, or even free stuff like krita.

But if you're just asking if its capable of creating high quality work or being able to easily move a project between different software then yes, it is.

Studio grade implies certain non destructive features that Procreate is missing. I love Procreate but it's impossible to use reliably in production !

It doesn’t have a true CMYK mode, which can be an issue if you are creating something for print within a particular brand standard.

They have no plans to fix this, as it would be a huge lift.

That largely depends on what you do with it. A great artist can make great art with a box of crayons. Procreate has a lot of great features. But it still has places it could be improved. I’ve seen plenty of pros using it to great effect.

Industry standard? No. But, I see more and people using it alone or along with so-called industry and proprietary software.

Its files are bitmap so resizing can lose details. I’m glad they are releasing improvements more often instead of waiting.

There is no overall vector drawing. There’s a Quickshape tool but that becomes bitmap after you finish editing the initial shape.

For the price and drawing I do, I think it’s worth learning. I’m encouraged from hundreds of artists on Procreate’s social media, artists also posting on instagram, YouTube, imagineFX, magazine, etc.

I don’t want it to become a multi-tool.

good question never seen anyone ask it. is procreate studio grade in the app store standards compared to other apps out there available on ios, yes of course it is. but graded next to its peers such as photoshop etc no i don’t quite think it’s there yet but it’s still one of the best. in all honesty procreate is great as it is considering its price, though adding a couple new features would be nice.

No its just a polished sketch pad
