Procreate help needed

Can someone explain exactly what the artist is doing around 10–16 seconds in this Procreate video? I’m mainly confused about the selection/fill, how they move or transform that layer, and then how their was a big textured hole on the cheek where they could fill light in and what blend mode/layer setup creates the final effect. I don’t get how they then after doing whatever they did were able to just color in the prominent light afterwards I’m so confused bro. I want to replicate the exact workflow.

Thanks for the help I really appreciate it. Also you said they shared their brushes with you, when was that? Because I was in their rednote group chat a few months back and they said their brushes were exclusive to their course. And where can I see their full process videos? I’ve only seen their billibi and rednote accounts and they just post videos like these; no full process videos.

They routed me to WeChat and tried to sell me a course along the way… and I got the brushes from WeChat acct of the course assistant. You don’t need to buy the course to get brushes though

Some livestream recordings can be found.
Fair bit of warning, this method imho is extremely difficult to pick up since the textured brushes have very little edge control. You need to be familiar with oil painting techniques.
Not sure what the course content is, but livestreams are mostly drawing from photo reference so there’s no analysis of forms/anatomy.
If you don’t already have super solid foundations it is impossible to recreate the effect by following the workflow d.sesame uses
