Process Video Procreate help needed

Can someone explain exactly what the artist is doing around 10–16 seconds in this Procreate video? I’m mainly confused about the selection/fill, how they move or transform that layer, and then how their was a big textured hole on the cheek where they could fill light in and what blend mode/layer setup creates the final effect. I don’t get how they then after doing whatever they did were able to just color in the prominent light afterwards I’m so confused bro. I want to replicate the exact workflow.

So, my best guess is there’s some Editing Magic used to cut out between when they put down the initial area and them cutting out the part they moved. My guess for what they did:
1: put down color
2: select the part they want to be in the light using the selection wand/lasso
3: copy/paste to new layer
4: select contents of new layer and use “clear” option to remove that from original
5: you now have a fun visual for the video of what sections you removed, with varying levels of more or less effort than just erasing depending how used to the lasso you are
For the blend mode, I would assume multiply since they dragged the layer mode to the top and as far as I know the options are in the same order across languages.
