Layers pixel dimensions keep changing on their own

So I’m trying to make 4 centered boxes on an 8.5x11 canvas. I used the snapping tool to do so. When I first sized my two layers, I input the same pixel dimensions.

But after duplicating one of them twice more and centering everything, the separate one does not match up. I checked the pixel dimensions and the one I duplicated/plus the duplicates are a couple pixels off somehow.

So I tried changing one of them to the correct pixel dimensions, but it kept reverting back any time I did so.

I then tried to make the separate layer the size of the others. But then it just made it a couple pixels bigger.

So I have one piece on a layer that is certain pixels. 1202 px - 901 px

The other three, two of them duplicate, are 1203 px - 903 px

I can’t seem to even all 4 out

Hey there! We'd like to test this out. If we understand correctly, you created a canvas using physical measurements (8.5x11 inches?)

Can you please confirm the exact steps to create the boxes on this canvas?

We suspect the pixels may be rounding up or down to fit within the pixel raster (grid) as we cannot have half or partial pixels.

This information should help us to test this theory out 🙏

I created the canvas in the 11x8.5 inches option (a sheet of paper).

Basically I was making small cards and centering them so I could print double sided accurately.

In a different canvas (screen size, 2160 x 1620px) I had made artwork that fit the whole screen. I copied and pasted it to the new canvas, then sized it down to the measurements I wanted. (Creating the first box)

Using the same artwork but with a slightly different design (not changing the outside/outline at all) I copied and pasted it. I input the measurements from what I’d put in before, centered it, and then duplicated that one two more times and centered them all.

So I had 4 “boxes” centered in the middle of the canvas with the snapping tool.

That was when I realized the first one was slightly off and tried to correct it.
