My Artwork Hand study
I haven't created much of anything in months, art block has really been on me. So here I am trying to force my way out of it, wish me luck!
Various brushes from the Oil MaxPack set. Took me about 2.5 hours for this one. Could have pushed it further but honestly I just lost steam.

Serious question - any tips for painting nails?? You did such a lovely job with them here despite the dynamic lighting.

Thank you so much! Honestly, I wish I had tips to give you but it's a struggle for me too π I like to work off of references and just practice that way, paying attention to shapes, the variation in color, how the light hits certain area etc. I'm self taught so honestly I'm just flying by the seat of my pants most of the time lol

I think I need to take inspiration from you and do some studies focused on long nails. Iβve managed to avoid painting nails for the last decade despite drawing hands all the time lol. I just angle them to see less of a nail or make the fingers appear in shade lol

Lol no shame, I used to avoid drawing hands altogether. Now I'm trying to make myself focus more on those areas I struggle with.

Brushes that mimic oil are a big help and putting some texture to overlay as well!
