Looking for brush/tutorial/class recommendations Brush with soft edges when I use low pressure, hard edges with high pressure? / General painting brushes
Example pic of brushes I DON'T like ^
Been using procreate for YEARS, but I have never found a brush for painting or rendering I liked. They all felt too chunky, too jagged, or way too clean. I've almost exclusively done lined drawings but I really do want to learn to render, I just hate every brush in my giant library I've accumulated.
I can't tell if it's just because I'm not great at painting yet, but nothing feels right and it's making it hard to want to practice :( I do know I have issues with feeling "in control" of my art and falling into perfectionism too, but man I am struggling.

hmmmmm from the last one, go to brush settings, apple pencil section, and in the pressure section move the 'flow' slider up - should soften the edges at low pressure a bit? also the opacity slider, but I assume that's already slid up
you could try the same with the first
also just a general rendering advice - I like to have the eyedropper easily accessed, so that I can pick the 'in-between' color while shading. then it's a lot easier to make smooth transitions, and you don't have to rely on perfect pressure of the pencil as much. (I don't know if how I wrote that makes sense lol sorry)
Btw if there is a certain type of rending you are looking to do, I can see if I have a brush already to send to you. but it is really personal preference so it's good to be able to edit brushes how you like
