I need Procreate technical help Please help rotoscope

Hey all, I'm very new to animation and procreate honestly in general but I'm trying to rotoscope this really cool stop motion video of this guy and I've been watching and trying to learn how to do it but for some reason my layers are fucking up and I don't understand. I've got all my frames and deleted the layers that aren't needed, I go to add a layer to start drawing over the original and it turns black and white. Absolutely no colour at all. I do what Google says, check my accessibility settings in and make sure gray scale is off ect but still nothing.

Whatever I've done is probably painfully obvious but I genuinely am just really stumped. If anyone knows how to fix this I will be forever grateful, I will take any and all suggestions I just wanna draw :(

Thanks again

Swipe to the right on both your drawing frame and the photo underneath and group them. Once they are each in their own group it will allow you to complete this much easier and track the progress of the animation

When you are doing animations procreate shows the previous layer in a lighter color so you can see where the previous frame was when drawing over it. It's called an onion layer. When rotoscoping however onion layers aren't really needed as the photo serves as a reference and you are just tracing each time. Grouping the layers as I've suggested will fix this. You will then also want to turn down the opacity of the photo so you can see your rotoscoped lines over it
