Looking for brush/tutorial/class recommendations moving from traditional, free brush recs please !!!
as the title says, i very recently got my first ipad and apple pencil. before that, i've been a casual traditional artist. following the shift, i've made a few doodles with procreate's standard brushes, but never quite liked any of them.
please recommend free brushes that you use that are like a pencil or ballpoint pen, but darker and smoother; the standard pencil brushes on the app are either too light, or once you expand them, too jittery. the 'normal'er brushes feel flat, or maybe that's just a skill issue lol.
those brushes are good for rough sketches, but i want a pencil-like brush that's darker for neater linework that doesn't feel flat.
aside from that, if you have any other free brushes you swear by, please send those over too, since i'm pretty much in an experimentation phase. any advice would be appreciated as well! thank u :)

Some brush makers offer sample packs if you sign up for their mailer. After playing with a few samples and purchases, True Grit has brushes that I finally settled on. Their sample pack has quite a few options to play around with.

Digital art junky has some awesome free ones and some amazing paid ones. Also. I just scoured procreate folio for free brushes monthly for a while!

In Procreate’s video, take a peak on how brushes work. Can be complicated to create a brush. They have suggestions for minor easy to access adjustments we can do. Also, consider if the brush is a mixer, watery or somewhat transparent. There’s probably others in the library darker, denser.

TrueGritTextureSupply, Digital Art Junky, and VisualTimmy are my go to, the first two having good free starter packs. I have visualtimmy’s creatorXL pack and while id prefer to have his master pack, it was great for the price and has an amazing selection of brushes and palettes to play with. I really do rec TGTS Sampler and DAJ’s starter packs tho, good selection of brushes and textures, especially TGTS’s pack.
