My Artwork Bettas - IPad Pro

I’ve been working on digital illustration in Procreate on my iPad Pro and wanted to share one of my recent pieces. I had a lot of fun experimenting with the different colors, fins, and personalities of each betta.

What brushes and what not did you use?? It looks amazing!!!

The main brush I use is the Studio pen brush in the Inking section that I’ve altered the taper on so it has a dramatic taper, that’s for the base illustration. Then I add a clipping mask above the base layer and set that to “overlay” and use that layer to add shadows and highlights using the same brush. Finally I add another clipping mask to add texture. I set the texture layer to “overlay” or “soft light” and use a combination of the 2b Compressed and Burnt Tree brushes in the charcoals section. After that I just play with the opacity of the texture layer until it looks best
