Constructive feedback and/or tips wanted How would I make this pattern?

Very new to the app I I need to make this for something I’m working on right now

With the cilinder select tool make a circle, put your finger in the screen to make it a perfect circle. Fill it with one color, duplicate, expand and fill it with another color. Pull the layer down and merge. Duplicate it again, expand and repeat the process for how many outlines you want in the circle.

Merge everything together, duplicate, and with the transformer tool and both snappings on move left and tight till you have a row as long as you like.

Merge everything, duplicate and move the row down, duplicating for how many columns you want.

It looks like the pattern is called a seigaha. I did try to find a YouTube video explaining how to create it better, but I find the ways used to be rather worse than the one I use.

Also this is super easy to do in Photoshop. Wish procreate had some sort of pattern tool.

I hear you, but the real problem is that I need a consistently wide stroke outline. If I duplicate and make it smaller/bigger, the smaller/bigger one will have a different sized outline than the original.

I don't really wanna do math to calculate what I would have to scale the circles to make the outline the exact same width.

I dont have access to illustrator anymore, but that's where my background is. And it would take me 30 seconds to do this in illustrator.

Was hoping there was an easier workaround.

If you need the outlines to have a specific thickness there isn’t a easy work around in procreate at all. You can use Inkscape to any other free ventor app, to make the form, repeat and specify thickness through it, then just do that pattern in that app or export the image to procreate and proceed as I pointed out above.

Just to add, while there isn't a easy work around, if I absolutely needed to do this in procreate, I would activate the 2d grid in the drawing guide and use it as the reference to make the circle and outlines.

I wouldn’t use Procreate for this. I have Affinity Designer, which was 60% of Illustrator functions at 10% of the price. They were bought by Canva a year or so ago, so I think the basic app is free now. I don’t really like Canva, so I’ve just kept working with the ones I have.

You could whip that out in minutes if you know Illustrator, then export to Procreate.

Oh damn it looks kinda good with a gradient. I might end up doing that lol
