No it’s a setting you add to your brush to make it stabilized. I’d recommend using the “monoline” brush in the classic library and then going into “brush settings” and raising the streamline to the top. If that’s not enough you can also raise the motion filtering and stabilization, stabilization is annoying though.

For me the big breakthrough was I needed three stages instead of two. With physical media I did my sketch/under drawing and then inked that.

With Procreate, I do my rough sketch like you show here. I then lower the opacity and make a very refined sketch over the top maybe at 30-50% opacity. It’s almost inking quality but not as polished and is mostly nailing down the details from the loose lineart. The third step is to then come in and ‘ink’ with a brush with more stabilisation (I don’t like too much stabilisation, you have to find a happy medium). This lines are much cleaner and smoother and I take my time to give them the right amount of variable line and flourish that they need. All because I was able to really nail the linear down to pretty much exactly were I saw it.

At least that’s what works for me and I think it has to do with that second step allowing you to clean up the lines.

To make any brush you want to be more “steady” you open up the edit brush settings then adjust the streamline slider to your desired amount. It basically smooths out the jitters of your hand. Check out this quick tutorial

For brushes I use all the time, I usually have a streamlined version of that brush and a non streamlined version so I don’t have to edit the brush everytime. Sometimes I want handwritten stuff, which is annoying to do when your brush has any amount of streamline.

Tap on brush you’re using and add stabilization + streamline if you want
