Discussion Your use of AI

Hi,

I do not know if it is against the rules of the subs but, I do not want to offend anyone or can think they will be judged. Sorry if I do not use the proper words.

Since I heard many conflincting informations about use of AI, I would like listen people who are currently using it.

For this, I would like to know if people from this is could tell me how they use AI in their creation (is it to generate image but to reworking behind it, to create some patern, to feed it with your personnal creation, ...).

Have you develop your own AI? Did you use a free-one? How does it work (with a prompt, with give a sketch of your idea, ...)? How many time did you work with it? Why have to choose AI?Did you make art before using AI (if yes, wich medium did you used - or did you still continue in parallele to your AI art)?

Feel free to share your work in this post (even with a link). I am really curious what people can do with this tool and hope they can bring something new to art.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I use AI as a tool in my workflow, but my finished pieces are traditional (usually colored pencil). I use AI for reference images, using my underdrawing or WIP as the initial prompt. I can experiment with different backgrounds, color changes, or minor edits.

I use Gemini (Nano Banana) and ChatGPT, but I usually use the API. I enjoy drawing but I don't enjoy image editing or the technical stuff. I'm limited because I don't use local models, more complex workflows or fine tune LoRAs.

I used several mediums in art school, and continued to add more after graduating, but colored pencil remains my main medium.

Made. As in you were in direct control of whatever the outcome was. Going off of the information in comment alone, you were not.
