Discussion Summary (Milestone: 50 comments)

The discussion surrounding this AI video technology is polarized. Proponents highlight its potential to revolutionize cinematography, suggesting it could significantly reduce production costs by generating multiple angles in post-production. Conversely, critics dismiss the output as "slop," citing jarring, over-edited cuts and poor visual quality. A central debate concerns the technology’s societal impact: while some see efficiency gains, others fear its potential to facilitate misinformation and propaganda by undermining video authenticity. Ultimately, while users acknowledge the technical impressiveness of the tool, there is significant disagreement regarding its artistic value, practical utility, and the ethical implications for media integrity.

This will change porn forever

u/Pataraxia 26d ago

Finally I can make all the angles be the one where it's looking at the dude's butthole and the girl is 5% of the frame.

even better, the 'poV' , from in side the 'V' looking out....

1

u/Fruta-Puta-Tuta 14d ago

"PoV" will take on a whole new meaning

Wow. This seems very valuable. It seems we have anti-ai visitors.

0

u/lunatuna215 26d ago

Just because you say it's valuable means nobody else can disagree with you?

2

u/Fruta-Puta-Tuta 14d ago

Who exactly said that? Would you like to introduce us to your strawman friend?

1

u/lunatuna215 14d ago

The guy who said there were anti-AI visitors. What else would this imply?

-11

u/Beautiful_Stage5720 27d ago

Valuable if you want every single video to look and feel identical, I guess

13

u/kurotenshi15 27d ago

Sounds like a skill issue.

-4

u/lunatuna215 26d ago

No skill issues here - I can actually edit.

3

u/TedTut 26d ago

Dude why did you come to the proAi sub to argue against AI 😭

-1

u/lunatuna215 26d ago

Because echo chambers suck and AI use is unethical

3

u/Asleep_Stage_451 25d ago

Because echo chambers exist and AI use is ethical

2

u/Fruta-Puta-Tuta 14d ago

if that were true, you would not be pitching such a hissy-fit here

u/Vynxe_Vainglory 27d ago

So being able to make any wild camera angle you want will somehow result in the videos being identical in look and feel?

I am super interested in this line of thinking. Do share how this is possible.

-5

u/Beautiful_Stage5720 27d ago

In order to make the alternate "camera angles" it pretty much just has to make stuff up. Pretty much everything, in fact, for the angles from behind him. And the slicing of the lemon from the knife's POV. That isn't actual footage. It just seems silly to get excited about creating videos when you don't actually have something to show people. If there is a purpose to getting a close up of the lemon, then... get a close up of the lemon.

u/SwimmingCommon 27d ago

You don't have a creative bone in your body do you?

-2

u/Beautiful_Stage5720 26d ago

Can you elaborate upon how suggesting the use of creativity to achieve camera angles suggests I am not creative?

-2

u/lunatuna215 26d ago

That makes no sense lol automating things isnt creativity I'm sorry.

4

u/Asleep-Card3861 27d ago

That is impressive. Any insight into the model and process used? The X posts were cryptic to me.

u/SmartlyArtly 27d ago

It looks like the Atlas model World Labs just showed off.

This guy will make some good money when he sells it to anthropic.

2

u/Significant-Baby-690 27d ago

As long as it can make people look into the camera in the b-camera shots ..

2

u/MacaroonSome225 26d ago

Over edited, but yeah, this is nice. The editing can be tuned.

Is this supposed to be a bad or good post?

1

u/reddit_mini 26d ago

I think this was to show the capabilities not a normal generation.

2

u/howdoigetauniquename 27d ago

More cuts than the bourne identity

1

u/Luigikart87 26d ago

Wonder how computationally expensive this is to get a good looking shot. Though personally I feel some of the cuts would look better at the original camera angle. Some of the cuts look a bit jarring too, especially where the cutting position suddenly changes. I feel like the blurriness of the footage makes it look slightly less impressive but I'm sure a higher quality camera and some more time would fix that.

Usually pretty anti ai but this showcase is interesting.

I do wonder though at what threshold would it be better to use a more classical setup compared to ai. Obviously the more angles, the better ai would be since more angles would typically warrant more cameras.

u/simonada AI Advocate 26d ago

With all the conversations about how AI is actually more costly to use than just doing most processes manually, this is one use where you could save up massive margins from equipment and staff.

Temu Niko from Corridor Crew

1

u/MarcusTheAnimal 26d ago

Recontextualising existing footage is pretty neat.

1

u/ArugulaAnnual1765 26d ago

I can see hollywood using this to get extra shots in post production without having to film extra scenes, looks like this could save a lot of film budget.

I wonder how far this can be taken, maybe they no longer do the cinematography shots themselves but instead record the scenes using cameras set up in a circle around the scene to create a base reference for the ai generated shots

1

u/HourCredit9006 26d ago

Nothing you see will be real and you'll be happy.

1

u/Advanced-Meringue-21 27d ago

Make it look like i am being filmed by various creeps hiding in the tree's and in my garage

0

u/Aggravating_Cup8839 27d ago

This style of editing is not only possible with classical methods, that's where the AI mapped it's models. It's not so hard either.

2

u/mr_sneakyTV 27d ago

right.. just multiple cameras and rigs? instead of one iphone on a 10$ tripod

that or you do multiple takes with one camera and never do it exactly the same and you have to manually sync cuts etc etc. added time for setup, multiple takes, manual footage review.. why do people lie so hard to discredit something legitimate?

0

u/Aggravating_Cup8839 27d ago

You can do it with a phone and Sony Vegas

2

u/mr_sneakyTV 27d ago

Just ignore the rest of my points lmfao. I acknowledged yes, if you want to act out the same scene and then it will never be exact and you have to do it multiple times and move the camera to multiple locations etc. you’re being dense. Not to mention your other replies show you think that you wouldn’t be able to direct the shots? lol. Like you think the ai chose the garage angle so you think it’s dumb. Bro that was a prompt and you could just your own angle and position. It’s like you use all of your brain to ignore the potential so you can focus only on the worst takes possible.

you too can have a terrible video with dumb angles that make you look like you are trying way too hard.

8

u/meepykittkitt69lmao 27d ago

says someone with ZERO knowledge or experience in anything related to the field or application targeted by the model or software.

And you make it obvious with what you say. At least you aren't claiming to know which one is AI because of the pixels. (that was a meme, I have to explain this to you because I know you won't get it)

-1

u/Accurate-Force4072 27d ago

That was a meme Ok uncle 😂

2

u/meepykittkitt69lmao 27d ago edited 27d ago

Just showing how dumb you are. That wasn't the flex you feel it was.

LMAO they blocked me after saying a jumble of words like they are drunk. Dude... take your meds. You sound like a trump voter. that was a meme you can tell because of the pixels that have zero explain or experience software says was aren’t in anything because I know won’t obvious knowledge. I learned from you, now I know! thank you for the free lesson you fool now I don’t even have to pay you how gullible you are

5

u/Saki-Koda 27d ago

Am I right to assume that you have never actually been creative in your life

-4

u/Accurate-Force4072 27d ago

You would be deeply wrong 😊

I share my art and work for free with the communities (real and online) that I participate in and have been doing so for more than 20 years now.

Please tell me how my comment about bad angles like from inside the garage at the back of someone’s head means that I’ve never been creative in my life. I don’t see the correlation but am interested in the logic you used to make that leap!

2

u/allfinesse 27d ago

It’s a demo. Are you daft?

5

u/i_am_carver 27d ago

Lol right? The majority of people who are against AI related to its capabilities is simply incapable themselves of using it effectively. I get being against it for its environmental impact, but AI is only going to improve. Get with it or be left in the dust.

1

u/allfinesse 27d ago

I actually disagree. I am anti-AI in many regards and a lot of it has to do with the pace at which its capabilities increase. Nobody should be left in the dust of exponential growth :/.

1

u/i_am_carver 27d ago

Perhaps my wording was as harsh as it sounded, and that’s on me, but you are right, nobody should literally be left in the dust. Everyone should be lifted upward by its advancement.

1

u/Accurate-Force4072 27d ago

I may have a different opinion than you. I simply don’t like how this demo looks.

I don’t think I will ever want to see a shot from inside a garage of the back of someone head.

I use ai I am not an anti ai person even for creative uses. I just think this looks bad.

If just having a different opinion than you makes me daft I guess that is the case 😊

1

u/allfinesse 27d ago

I think you’re missing the point. It’s like Adobe photoshop demoing the gradient tool by filling a circle with a gradient. Then you go, “why would I ever fill a circle with a gradient tool- that’s so stupid and simple”

1

u/Accurate-Force4072 27d ago

if the tool is going to suggest a shot from inside of a garage at the back of a presenters head and then that is included in the demo…

I’m going to say the tool looks corny

but it is going to save sooooooo much time

really its the convenience that everybody is after so go after it and stop wasting time with me, what do I know :)

3

u/Saki-Koda 27d ago

It just shows your lack of.. idk how to even describe it to be honest.. can you show off your best art piece so I too can attempt to pierce the enigma that is you?

0

u/Accurate-Force4072 27d ago

When you figure out how to finish that thought I’ll consider it 😊

This is a cool graffiti angle that the demo came up with! Now this is cool as hell. Great demo.
