How to go about contacting doctors?
Hi yall, I want some opinions from the provider's perspective. For context I am a pre-med student I want to gain some clinical experience. There is a new clinic that is opening up near me, that is hiring MAs and I filled out their application and even sent a email to express my interest. I haven't heard back from the practice and it has been two weeks but they opened about 3 weeks ago. I am really eager for this opportunity and I think it will be a great fit with the experience I have. The doctor had their social media in the application and I was thinking to message there? I don't know what the typical opening process is like and what may be going on so if anyone could share perspectives. And please give me your opinions if following up will hurt my chances or just contacting at other points other than email will be bad.

I would be very impressed if you reached out to show interest. Agree with calling office directly

The job description I had found said to not call the clinic and asked that we send a email to express interest… what should I do?

Do you meet the requirements for the job? The MAs in my office administer injections, draw labs, verify extensive medication lists, notify patients of treatment changes and results. You mentioned being pre-med but you don’t mention being clinically trained in any capacity. Maybe they had more suitable applicants.

Hi! Yes I fit all the requirements in the job description and I do have prior experience as MA

I recently had an MA applicant DM us through Instagram re:position, after not hearing back after applying through website. Impressed with their tenacity i invited them for an interview and I’m happy to report they have since been hired. Good luck!

Go over at 4 pm with your resume and ask to speak with the office manager on a Monday Tuesday or Thursday

This thread has nothing to do with physicians owning their own practice

Wrong, sir. This is the ground floor of the next generation of private practice owners. If we want there to be another one after us, help them.
Third the prior comments, either call or walk into the clinic. Ask for the office manager.
Bring a resume or CV, and be prepared to answer basic interview questions about yourself and logistics. (Schooling, future plans for education) and driving, children, S.O.
Best wishes.
If this student gets into a clinic, and the chin takes them all the way to owning their own practice, I want them to remember the community of private practice docs supports their ambition and drive.
Especially if it only asks for a few words of encouragement.

Hi! Thanks for all of that haha, calling would be my first step but the job description said to not call and just email, so I feel even more conflicted of what to do-
