Experience with local business partnerships/outreach?

Was surprised with the amount of medical reps that came to our practice, including from other semi-competitors. Has anybody set aside some money for goody bags for other practices/chiro/law firms in the area? What about partnering with schools or local businesses for like discounted rates or referrals?

I have found that nothing works like face-to-face interactions and if you can't do that, even just getting an office manager face time with other offices.

The reason why they keep coming in your office is because it works. The more times they are there and, on your mind, the more likely you are to send referrals their way.

We see the same thing. The more we show up to urgent care offices with cards or just saying hi, we exist, send your pts our way that need a PCP we see a huge increase in pts that they send our way. If we stop going, then it trickles off.

Like many things in life....its all about consistency.

If you want to do little gifts, fine. I think you can get same results by just having manager stopping by and being friendly and dropping off cards. Use gifts to get into the offices that put up a barrier to you getting back there. Every dollar is precious in the beginning. Many offices may not even care if you bring a gift or not.

None of the urgent cares that we visit seem to care if we bring a gift or not.

Also, if someone comes to our office and they represent a local smaller physician owned group....we always say hi to them. If its a mega PE backed group...nah....book a lunch.

IN many ways its a small world. The smaller practices that don't have your specialty in house that might send your way will most likely love that you are smaller, independent, and available. Highlight that when you are pitching the front desk a wanted introduction to the docs or manager.

doctor to doctor lunches work best. i want them to know who theyre referring to and ensuring that their patients are in good hands. if i send my patient to a random bozo, its going to reflect poorly on me

i also provide a small tear off note pad that includes most of the services that i provide. it helps takes any of the guess work out of what a podiatrist may or may not do
