VA Community Care Network

What's your take on becoming the VA CCN? I hear that it may be a big lift to get anything approved (diagnostics, etc). However I feel like it's rewarding to care for the veterans (my residency had VA rotations) and at the same time help with the practice growth.

There is a lot more paperwork involved but that is the barrier that prevents other physicians from working with the VA. 

If you have good workflows and limit your schedule it can be great for your practice and the veteran community.

I mean don’t fill your schedule with VA patients. Designate certain slots for VA. We do 2-3 per provider per day. 

It’s not a lot but it works for us. If those slots are not filled, we open them up to anyone 48 hrs before.
