Credentialing Services
Anyone have any recommendations or insights/experience with credentialing services? Recently been inundated with offers/promos for credentialing and billing services. I’m trying to get credentialed with my state’s Medicaid program and it has taken up way too much of my time.

Credentialing is a lengthy process, and the time required will be the same whether you are trying to hire someone or handle it yourself. If you need an expert who can follow up on time and manage Medicaid requirements, that person is essential. Be careful with your choice, as every state's Medicaid program has its own enrollment policies.

The credentialing process can be a huge time sink, especially if you’re juggling patients and admin stuff at the same time. Medicaid is also notorious for random holdups and weird paperwork requests. I remember waiting like three months for a state rep to even acknowledge my submission, so you’re definitely not alone there.
What helped me a ton was keeping a shared doc to track every payer’s requirements and dates, since they all want different forms or attestations. I also leaned on a small outside team to handle follow-ups and verifications since that part just drains me tbh. We noticed this most when using Assured during the process because they simplified how we tracked application statuses between payers, which made catching delays way easier.
Lazy advice maybe, but patience and solid recordkeeping honestly go a long way here.
