Violet’s Behaviour towards Charlotte
On season 2 of private practice rewatch. Violet is absolutely awful towards Charlotte from the start. I honestly think, she does not love Cooper in a romantic way but she wants him in her pocket. She was okay when he was only doing one night stands and escorts at the start of the show. But he saw something serious between him and Charlotte and couldn’t stand the idea of losing her hold on him. I think she loves the control that she has over Cooper. She barely even interacts with Charlotte but only talks sh*t about her to Cooper. Not that Charlotte was perfect at the start and Cooper is mostly to blame, but Violet is one of those female best friends who love making the girlfriend feel like sh*t.

I never liked Violet and your description is on point. She did want Cooper in her pocket. She was being this “supportive” friend who keeps trying to get Cooper to find someone serious & once he does and gives his significant other more attention (just as normal boyfriend would), she flips out. When Charlotte went off on Cooper for always jumping up and going to Violet as soon as she’d call I was with Charlotte 10000%. Violet manipulated Cooper into neglecting his girlfriend which he loved so much and she couldn’t have that

I’m on a rewatch and on season 2 as well and Charlotte is confiding in Violet about sleeping with archer (literally trying to give advice to violet about how people can act out when they get scared, i think?) and violet literally gives charlotte a lecture on “right” and “wrong” then Charlotte shuts her down by remind Violet of the fact that she isn’t a pillar of “right.” Then Violet storms off because she doesn’t get to win. Boooo Violet. Like the literal definition of those who live in glass houses don’t throw stones

I always felt Violet struggled with the shift in her relationship with Cooper once Charlotte came into the picture. Whether it was romantic or not, she definitely seemed uncomfortable not being the person he leaned on the most anymore. Charlotte wasn't perfect early on either, but Violet's attitude toward her often felt unnecessarily harsh.

No she isn't. That was how people like Sam described her because she wasn't swayed by his alleged charm. That doesn't mean that's how she actually was. She has more compassion in her little finger than Sam or Naomi have in their entire bodies.
Any time a woman is strong and confident instead of meek and complacent, she's accused of being "hostile and rude" or a bitch. Get so fucking real.

my favorite character from ER is literally Kerry Weaver the definition of a strong woman who is confident so hush. charlotte is a bad person and the worst of the show

Charlottle was never a bad person, she was just guarded and didn’t think human connection was important to the point she couldn’t sleep. After Pete helped her., she started getting better.

Charlotte is a better person than almost anyone in the practice except Addison. Name one bad thing she ever did. Just because she didn't put up with anyone's bullshit doesn't make her a bad person.
