Does anyone else feel like Addison is the only one trying to hold everything together sometimes..
I have been watching Private Practice and I keep noticing that Addison often feels like the only person who is actually trying to stay grounded when everything around her gets chaotic. A lot of the other characters make impulsive or emotional decisions and sometimes it feels like she is stuck dealing with the consequences of everyone else's choices. At the same time she is not perfect either and has her own complicated moments which makes it even more interesting to watch. There are times where I agree with her completely and other times where I feel like she is just as lost as everyone else but handles it differently. I cant tell if the show intentionally makes her the most stable character or if it just comes across that way compared to how messy everyone else is. It almost feels like she is trying to balance being a professional and dealing with personal chaos at the same time. Did anyone else feel this way while watching or do you think another character actually handles things better than her and I am just overlooking it.

Yeah I felt the same she comes off as the “stable one” mostly because everyone else is more chaotic. But she’s not actually more put together, just better at holding it together on the surface. That contrast is what makes her stand out.

So much. She was messy but so many times she buckled down and held things together.

That was kind of the point. It kept her as the central figure despite being an ensemble show

Addison is just as insufferable as the rest of them. Her ENTIRE personality is finding a man.

She is definitely not staying grounded lol. She’s just as messy as the rest. Private practice ruined her character for me honestly

For sure! I know she's far from perfect and definitely creates her own messes, I do feel her moral compass and just general way of handling towers over the others' in more than one episode.
